TODAY I WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
by Max Lucado
Today I will make a difference. I will begin by controlling my
thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy
and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and
hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let
petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams
be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my
companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a
difference.
I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time
is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to
be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day
with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each
minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone
forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving. Today I
will make a difference.
I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred
with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I
will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No
failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble... I will get up. It's OK to fail...
I will rise again. Today I will make a difference.
I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family.
A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own
nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at
least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five
quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five
undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.
Today I will make a difference.
Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage
through my trash heap of failure. I will admit them. I will correct
them. I will press on.

Hi, tuliptree:
In Honor of Teddy Bear Day:
Your Teddy Bear is always there.
Siting patiently through the ever wending
Days, weeks, months and years.
Teddy doesn't have a care.
You've made a nice place for him to play.
Keeping company and counsel along the way.
Since before you were the age of two.
His stuffings hugged so tight when you had the flu.
He always knows when things with you aren't right.
In brightest day and darkest night.
Never objecting to a young girl's Tea Fete.
He's there for you to hug and squeeze.
Through Life's occasional Rocky Seas.
The friendly Keeper of Sanity and Secrets.
Let's give a rousing round of Cheers.
To our plump, plush, huggable Teddy Bears!
Jack.

Thanks for the recipe, Amy. I saw on TV this morning that the rain out your way is supposed to be clearing up later this week. I hope you are having a great day!

Regarding posts 92 and 104 ... and what have I been telling everyone?
Cheerfulness and optimism, by itself, is rewarding.

Good afternoon, Ia.
I hope you are having lots of sunshine today. We had a shower early this morning. The sun is out now and drying some of the puddles.
Hope your day is filled with sunshine and blue skies.

Teddy Bears LOVE picnics....and poetry, especially this poem by fish hawk. :-)

The Bears were out in the woods today
to picnic in the shade
they didn't know a storm would come
and rain on their parade
when lightning struck the tree above
there was fire everywhere
it boiled the tea, cooked their lunch
but left the Mama Bare.
What a shock that lightning gave
confusion everywhere
Baby Bear would not behave
all Papa did was stare
that was a day in history
they shouldn't have left the lair
but how were they to know or see
it would end with Mama bare.

Amy, I like your blue kidprint font. :-)

That is a cute poem by Fish Hawk.
Teddy Bear Day is fun.
I'm seeing if I learned anything from today's lesson at the Finest. LOL

I need to run some errands; I'll be back later.
I'll answer the rest of my pings later.

I'm just checking in, I haven't forgotten you all. I stayed home sick to my stomach Thursday the 17th. I did not do much work for 2 weeks (about 2 weeks ago) after I was sick with a fever so I need to catch up now.
See you again when I'm more caught up! Don't forget me!

Happy Teddy Bear Day, everybody.

If Teddy Bears Ruled The World
If teddy bears ruled the world,
Oh my, what a wonderful place.
Everyone would be happy.
There would be a smile on every face.
We would picnic every Sunday
At our favorite old oak tree.
We would sing and dance and prance about,
Just playing joyfully.
We would all be nice to each other
And always lend a hand.
Ready with a bear hug,
We would always understand.
We would all be happy when something nice
Happened for one of our friends
And our friendships would last forever.
Nothing would cause them to end.
We would be kind to everyone,
Not just those in our own home,
But to everyone throughout our world,
Wherever we may roam.
Yes, if teddy bears ruled the world,
What a wonderful life this would be.
Our hearts would always be happy
As we danced by the old oak tree.
