Good morning, Amy! I hope you're getting closer to being ready for your big trip. I'm sure it's going to be fun! When are you leaving for DC?
It's getting colder here. When I got back on Monday, it was in the 60s. Now the high today is only going to be 32 degrees.
I hope you have a great day!

Hey there, Miss Tulip!
That fellow in the background behind your big ice cream cone looks a bit like me! But where's my hat? And what am I doing in Missouri?
Morning, IA, fancy running into you in the ice cream parlor!

Hope you are having a Happy Birthday, CG.
Do you have a copy of the poem you wrote last year?
I looked, but couldn't find it.
Have a terrific birthday and a wonderful weekend.

Hi Bob! You were in Missouri and you didn't stop by. Shame on you!

My parents told me that it's even colder up where they are. I left just in time to miss the below-zero wind chills!

I love ice cream. The richer, the better!

Amy, Just found you site a few days ago but I love it. Thought you might like the following. It is actually lyrics to one of my songs but I think you will find it appropriate.
A SPECIAL PRAYER
When I lay me down to sleep I thank the man upstairs
For blessings that he sends my way just because he cares
Enough to give this working man more love than just my share
Before I close my eyes to dream I say a special prayer
CHORUS
God Bless our men and women in harms way
Protect them with your unseen hand keep them safe today
Stay near in every conflict give them peace and rest I pray
God Bless our men and women in harms way
I'm not one to put on a show or create some big scene
Sometimes I struggle with my words but I know what freedom means
And I tear up just thinking about the sacrafices made
To preserve the way of life we all enjoy today
CHORUS:
TAG: Stay near in every conflict keep them safe today
God Bless our men and women in harms way

Wind chill factors in Toronto and Chicago should be a felony!

I have everything packed unless I decide that I need another outfit. I need something dressier than what I am taking but I think I've run out of time.
I have purchased and returned more these past two weeks than I have in 3 years. :)
We leave at 6:30 Tuesday morning. We will arrive at 5:30.
I have been worried whether I've packed enough warm clothes. We are not accustomed to freezing temps except during the night and very early morning. I think our temp is 40 degrees right now.

Ugh! Yes, Chicago wind chills are awful. I used to live in a college town that's about 2 hours west of Chicago. It was awful walking a mile to class during the winter. The city is basically a bunch of tall buildings out in the middle of an open plain - which made for a nice wind tunnel. Thankfully, they had an excellent bus system. (As long as I didn't miss the bus...)

I distinctly remember being in Missouri, and I'm sure I looked for you. You must have been busy though...
A Fathers Question I used to ask my daughters,
And you may want to know,
When you were up in Heaven,
Before you came below,
Did you think about hair color,
And choose the one for you?
Did you decide about your feet,
So theyd fit your favorite shoe?
Did you choose your own eye-color?
(You made a perfect choice!)
And did anyone help you with,
Your sweet angelic voice?
Did you consider how youd look,
When you would try to smile?
And just where did you come upon,
That heavenly profile?
And while you were considering,
Your choices about those,
While you were waiting up above,
Did you really pick your nose?
