"But though we are created for good works, we're not yet finished. We must experience the kiln of affliction. Aching hearts, weary spirits, aging bodies are the processes God uses to finish the work He has begun."
Don't fear the furnace that surrounds you.
Be "patient in tribulation" and await the finished product.
"Let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing" (James 1:4). David Roper
We are here to be perfected,
Only God our needs can see;
Rarest gems bear hardest grinding,
God's own workmanship are we. Anon.
These words reminded me of this...
Pebbles
God gives us broken gravel,
A world that hurts to touch.
We tend to show ingratitude,
This doesnt seem so much.
And as we go about our work,
And strive to see the point,
It seems we end up getting,
More gravel in each joint.
We bump about and break them,
And grind them into dust.
We really wouldnt touch them,
Except we find we must.
Theyre all around us everywhere,
Our burdens on this Earth,
We trudge and trek the rocky path,
That started with our birth.
At long last it is ended,
The final day arrives,
We end with pretty shining stones,
To decorate our lives.
For this is what its been about,
The changes that we make,
Are to the roughness we wear off,
Thats all for Heavens sake.
So smile and struggle onward,
Your life will take some grit.
God has some expectations,
What will become of it?
Bear up and hoist the burden,
The effort is worthwhile,
For when you go back home again,
You will be dressed in style.

When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? I try to, in most circumstances I do. But every once in a while ....
Thank you that was a great post and you are sweet.
You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you (I JUST DID); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it;
I Just did!

The weather was great today! I spent the whole day, in and out, with only a long-sleeved shirt (Plus the usual pants, shoes, et cetera...) against the weather. 60o F for a high.
But it will not last. You can expect temperatures around freezing, with various types of moisture. Survivable mostly, but unpleasant.
Yes, we believe we are ready. Quite excited actually; it takes effort to not squeak when I talk about it.

I didn't get any Girl Scout cookies.

It looks like we both arrived too late for the Girl Scout cookies.
I am missing so much while getting ready for the Ball.
