I think I found it. His paintings seem so peaceful.

It reminds me of a weekend of peace and relaxation. Of course, those are probably warships on the horizon. LOL!

They are indeed peaceful. Also, full of depth and color. If you noticed, the ocean is many colors blended into one.

I love these paintings by Monet.
I had never spent this much time looking at his paintings. I found several that I really like. After posting Poppies, I looked at some of the others. My gosh they are lovely.
I'm glad you called them to my attention.
Have a nice week.

Do ya think it was like during the Civil War when civilians took a picnic lunch out to watch the battles? Kinda like a sporting match.

Yes, I noticed the different shades of blue and green used in the ocean. The cottage setting is so serene.

That's exactly what happened. I have a painting of ladies and young children having a picnic on a hill overlooking men bailing hay with a steam engine belching black smoke.
It was a sign of industrial might, in addition to the prestige value for the farmer, and carried none of the negative connotations we attach today.

Hey! You're still awake! LOL
To: Victoria Delsoul
LOL! I slept in today, so I'll probably go to bed in a couple of hours.

I couldn't decide which Monet paintings to post so I posted several. :)

Oh wow! Sounds good to me. :-)
I'm just about to dry my clothes right now.
To: Victoria Delsoul
Ahhh. I'm visiting my parents next week for Thanksgiving, so I'll be doing laundry then. (I don't like sitting in laundromats. LOL!)
To: tuliptree76
Oh right. Mine is in the basement - I live in a townhouse.
To: Victoria Delsoul
My apartment is too small to allow for a washer and dryer. Once I get a full-time job I'm going to move into a place that's big enough so I can have my own.
