I noticed you picked "Poppies" to show us. This is one of Monets'earliest works(1873?). Right near the beginning of his impressionist work.

I like Monet. This one here is:
The Stroll, Camille Monet and Her Son Jean (Woman with a Parasol)" 1875 Oil on canvas, by Monet.
This masterpiece epitomizes the Impressionist concept of 'the glance.' It triumphs wonderfully in conveying the sensation of a snapshot in time, a stroll on a beautiful sunny day.

This painting always catches my eye. I'm not sure why. Maybe it is the way the red poppies stand out from the rest of the peaceful scene.

I've never given much thought to a favorite impressionist painter, but I find that I'm always drawn to paintings by Monet.
There is something there that catches my attention.
