You Won't Get Away With It!
Read: Galatians 6:1-9
Our transgressions are multiplied before You, and our sins testify against us. Isaiah 59:12
Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 20-21; 2 Timothy 4
A group of students at Renaissance High School in Detroit decided to cut classes to attend a rock concert in Hart Plaza. They felt they had gotten away with it, but the next day when The Detroit News appeared on the newsstand, it carried a color photo of the concertright there on the front page. And who was in that picture? That's rightthe delinquent students of Renaissance High, easily recognizable by anyone.
The Bible teaches that we cannot hide our iniquities. Oh, we may be able to cover them up for a while and even get away with them for an extended period of time. But the day will inevitably come when we must face up to them, either in this world or in the next. Paul told the Galatians, "Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap" (Galatians 6:7).
Perhaps you have some secret sin that you are hiding. If so, I urge you to confess and forsake it. Or maybe you are gradually being drawn into a situation that you know is wrong and you're tempted to pursue it, thinking you won't get caught. Then I plead with you to go no further. Your picture may not appear on the front page of a newspaper, but the Bible says you won't get away with it! Dave Egner
The sinful things that we may do
Are often hid from human view,
But judgment day will bring to light
Those things that we have not made right. D. De Haan
The seeds of wrongdoing may be sown in secret, but the crop cannot be concealed.

Be a Clown
If everybody loves a clown, then whats a clown to love?
This Romeo has placed her on the parapet above,
A pretty damsel in distress? No, she seems amused somehow,
Could it be theres something funny in the way she sees him now?
Presenting her a flower as he makes a little bow,
And all too soon Im sure he will be uttering a vow,
To you, my love, I promise that I always will be here,
To be your laughing partner and to fill your world with cheer.
Shes obviously flattered, but remains a little coy,
Could she perhaps do better than this funny little boy?
Though years remain before she really has to make a choice,
I hope that she will listen to her own internal voice.
Something she should consider as she ponders her big day,
Regardless of his handsome looks, or how he earns his pay.
Someday when she becomes someone elses better half,
Life is always pleasant with someone who makes you laugh.

You know...I do believe that Bob is rapidly becoming my favorite poet. He has at least a 5 point lead over the next most favorite.

Thanks, Al,
I do it because I enjoy it, and sharing makes it even more fun.
It varies in quality. Here's how I feel about that...
The Wordwright
A natural at rhyming, they said with quiet awe,
As if the effort of the work was just a lucky draw.
The poet grimly sets to task and nails the fabric down.
He stretches it to smooth it; portrays a bit of frown.
The subject matter fights him. He struggles on despite,
And witnesses remark there seems no effort in this wright.
While storms torment his vision, and tempests on him pour,
He delicately sets a bit of shell upon the shore.
The setting must be balanced. He knows it must be so,
But others only notice as the vistas slowly grow.
His struggle is exhausting, and soon to bed must he,
But not before he finishes his latest travesty.
So tempted to destroy it, his stare a rueful stance,
He shrugs and turns away from it without a backward glance.
Another masterpiece, they cry, and celebrate each rhyme,
And tearfully, he vows that he will do it right next time.

Here's one for the troops...something to remember!
Defenders of Freedom
Defenders of Freedom, thats what we are!
No battlefield too dangerous, no region too far.
Well march thru the desert with sand in our boots,
To search out a tyrant, take aim and shoot.
Well crawl thru the jungle, hide out in the woods,
Sleep in a foxhole, Go for days without food.
Well fire our weapons, drop bombs if we must,
Unless evil surrenders, its Baghdad or bust!
From the tortured and downtrodden we hear the call;
Well hammer away till dictatorships fall,
We want the needy to know that theyre not alone,
Even tho some of us wont return home.
Well lay down our lives so you can be free,
Leave our loved ones behind for your liberty.
From Saratoga to Somalia, well sacrifice;
From Shiloh to Saigon, well pay the price;
From Omaha Beach to The South China Sea,
Wherever were needed, thats where well be!
Youll know when you see the Red, White and Blue,
Well defend your freedom because thats what we do!
