I thought only cats stole food?

I used to let my cat sit on the table and watch me eat, but he kept trying to sneak food off of my plate. Now we have these new little kitties and I let them lick the plate WHEN I'M DONE. One of them thinks this is a great idea and is trying to convince me to share while there is still food on the plate. The other nite I was sitting on the couch eating at the coffee table and I had 2 furbabies laying on the table watching me eat with their little heads on their little paws. I usually pick them up and put them on the floor as soon as they jump up on the table.

    Oooooops .....

Tao of the Renga *

crystals form like fallen ferns
fond memories flirting in time

gone the green essence of life
fine fronds weaving with the wind

feathery wisps of lace blend
with blue skies and autumn hues

light peers through, distant, haunting
an eery pause to reflect

our spirit seeks elusive truths
silence merely mocks with smiles

we yearn to hear the message
only sorrows pierce the calm:

used to drive a limousine
now I'm wearing Army green

got a letter in the mail
go to war or go to jail

Marched up to my recruiter,
said he'd make me a shooter.

I will go to war today
But first shove peacenics away

I had put the steaks in the microwave after I grilled them because I wasn't ready to eat. Then later we came inside and I went to the internet. Laura Earl decided to nuke some baked potatoes. She sat the platter with the two steaks on the stove and put the potatoes in the microwave. Then she came to ask me a few questions. Then she went back in the kitchen. Then she comes and asks me, where are the steaks? I said in the microwave. She said no I sat them on the stove. I went to look. A clean platter was all that was left. LulaBelle had eaten two ten ounce NY Strips in under five minutes. She laid on her side in the living room like a roadkill for hours. It was really funny but I miss those steaks.

 Laura is more careful now.

    Evening friends.

 Minnie and Winnie

 Minnie and Winnie
 Slept in a shell.
 Sleep, little ladies!
 And they slept well.

 Pink was the shell within,
 Silver without;
 Sounds of the great sea
 Wander'd about.

 Sleep, little ladies!
 Wake not soon!
 Echo on echo
 Dies to the moon.

 Two bright stars
 Peep'd into the shell.
 "What are you dreaming of?
 Who can tell?"

 Started a green linnet
 Out of the croft;
 Wake, little ladies,
 The sun is aloft!

I like large dogs but they can get hard to handle. I stay away from our Shepherd, Millie, because she is a jumper and she can knock me down. Well ....... I have been spending more time with her since we got Louie/Max.

used to drive a limousine
now I'm wearing Army green

got a letter in the mail
go to war or go to jail

Marched up to my recruiter,
said he'd make me a shooter.

I will go to war today
But first shove peacenics away

mama mama can't you see
What this Army's done for me

It wasn't easy, you see
But they made a man of me

* Renga or "linked verse" is Japanese poetry
whereby people take turns adding lines or verses.
One types 7 syllables -- not words -- in a line,
which is in turn completed by another person.
