EARLY MORNING

Come right on in! You’re welcome here!
You’re just in time for chores.
Someone else is milking, Amy got the eggs,
So, see that pile of used up hay? Well, that one will be yours.

Now don’t feel like you’re put upon,
We all work around here.
There’s lots of puttin’ up to do,
‘Specially this time of year!

We’re getting ready for a time,
When darkness comes on fast.
And life is just uncomfortable,
Unless you’ve busted ...
Unless you’ve mowed the grass.

If Doubtful, Don't!

Read: Romans 14:14-23

He who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin. —Romans 14:23

Bible In One Year: Ecclesiastes 4-6; 2 Corinthians 12

In his book Illustrations of Bible Truth, H. A. Ironside tells about a man who was getting ready to attend a banquet. He wanted to put on a white shirt he had worn on a previous occasion, so he was inspecting it carefully to see if it was too dirty. His wife noticed what he was doing and called out, "Remember, dear, if it's doubtful, don't." The issue was settled. The man threw the shirt into the laundry hamper.

That wife's advice reminds me of the principle in today's text. It's a principle that can be applied to questionable matters of conscience. If doubtful, don't.

The doubtful things the apostle Paul wrote about in Romans 14 had to do with meat and wine considered to be "unclean" by some but not by others (vv.14,21). He indicated that if we have doubts about whether an action is right or wrong and we do it anyway, our action is not from faith and is therefore a sin (v.23). He also pointed out that it is wrong to do anything by which a brother in Christ "stumbles or is offended or is made weak" (v.21). We must never give another Christian a reason to violate his or her conscience.

When faced with questionable practices and a troubled conscience, we would do well to make this our guideline: If it's doubtful, don't! —Richard De Haan

There is a treasure you can own
That's greater than a crown or throne;
This treasure is a conscience clear
That brings the sweetest peace and cheer. —Isenhour

One little word can spare us a lot of trouble. It's NO.

Migraine

The world looks very different
Through the eyes of a migraine
Distorted
Fractured
Like broken glass stirred in water
The chaotic vision
Like the calm before the storm
The view is a nuisance
but it is nothing compared to the pain
which follows

I can sooo relate to the poem, "Migraine". My head hurt so badly by yesterday evening I wanted to cry, if it had hurt that badly this morning I probably would have not come to work.

O say, can you see, by the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hail'd at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars, thro' the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watch'd, were so gallantly streaming?
And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof thro' the night that our flag was still there.
O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

I had a young soldier dressed in fatigues today as a customer. I thanked him for his service. He said, "Yes ma'am."

Good afternoon, PAL.

I've never had a migraine, so I can not relate but ...
after reading StarfireIV's poem, that graphic seemed to fit what I imagined.

Hope you are having a great day!!

In a related story, John Kerry asked Shrek to marry him."
—Conan O'Brien

"The latest issue of GQ magazine, John Kerry talks about what a man should look for in a woman.
GQ? If John Kerry is going to talk about what he likes in a woman,
shouldn't it be in Fortune or Money magazine?"
--Jay Leno

"There was an embarrassing moment at a recent Democratic fundraiser.
When John Kerry was handed a $10 million dollar check, he said, 'I do.'"

You know what John Kerry calls someone who earns $822,000?
Not even worth dating."

and they said that if he is elected president,
she will be the oldest first lady in American history.
But that doesn't bother John Kerry, he said,

Hi Amy, Hi everyone....I know that most everyone here knows Texas Cowboy. This post just went up on Logan's thread...PLEASE join all of us in praying for his daughter.

I need to ask all of my family and friends to please come together in prayer for Texas Cowboy's daughter, Faith. Most of you know she has MS. She is having a really bad time right now and is in the hospital in ICU.

We have seen so many well wishes and the miracle of prayer come true.... and now TC and Faith need us.

Dear God, we come before You united in prayer asking for Your healing and mercy in behalf of Faith. Give her strength to overcome this present setback, and keep her safe and free from pain.

Grant Your healing powers to her. Assist her medical providers to greater knowledge and wisdom in her treatment.

And Father, please comfort TC and grant his wish for the health for his very precious daughter.

In Your name we pray......

Logan, Beth & Nana

And then, TC saw the post, and put this up.........

Faith went into ICU on Saturday for some tests to determine the cause of her seizures. MS is such a baffling disease!

They've thought for almost a year now that the seizures were caused by her MS, but now they think it may be heart related.

She still has the tubes in her neck where they did the blood cleansing, and they were concerned about infection. I don't know how long she will be there, but I'll be going out to California as soon as I can.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Yours will be mingling with mine.

God bless you.

Thanks everyone, BG.

"According to a new study, Botox injections can help back pain.
So you see, that's why John Kerry had all that Botox —
his back was killing him from all that flip-flopping on issues."
—Jay Leno

"The Secret Service has announced it is doubling its protection for John Kerry.
You can understand why — with two positions on every issue,
he has twice as many people mad at him."
—Jay Leno

"We make jokes about it but the truth is
this presidential election really offers us a choice of two well-informed opposing positions on every issue.
OK, they both belong to John Kerry, but they're still there."
—Jay Leno

"John Kerry will undergo surgery to repair his right shoulder.
He originally hurt it when he suddenly switched positions on Iraq."
—Craig Kilborn

"President Bush said John Kerry is on both sides of every issue.
And Kerry replied, 'No, I'm not ... but there is some truth to that.' "
—Craig Kilborn

"John Kerry met with Ralph Nader last week.
Both sides of every issue were discussed.
And then, Nader spoke."
—Jay Leno

"This is so weird. I saw the new John Kerry campaign commercial and he says,
'I'm John Kerry and I approve of this message — if I have one.'"
—Craig Kilborn
