You write SUCH nice posts

I wish I could write them. I just post them, that way I know I read them.

It is Our Daily Bread.

My apologies... Today is actually Patriot Day. I misread something before I posted the picture.

Good morning, Tulip.

Rememberance Day sounds fine to me. Today is a day to remember those lost on 9-11-2001 as well as our Military men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms.

Thank you.

Have a great Patriot's Day and a wonderful Rememberance Day!!!

Salient

A salient from the East brought a wake-up call,
Early on a Tuesday morning.
Like an earlier treachery that caught us asleep,
This came without a warning.

This time we were alert, and working hard,
When the attack began.
Betraying the innocent on a global scale,
That was their battle plan.

Earlier warnings were ignored, history must repeat,
Attacking a giant who slumbered.
Ignoring the wrath of his terrible resolve,
A previous enemy blundered.

The way to deal with the serpent’s strike,
Is not to run in fear.
Nor is it wise to treat with him,
Because he cannot hear.

Deal with the poison fangs this way,
Strike off the serpent’s head.
And then destroy his slithering spawn,
Where they have made their bed.

Our cities in the air were not a fort,
To bring their hearts to hurt,
Their dreams could have used a loftier view,
Than a burrow in the dirt.

But they have made their decision,
With that painful venomous blow.
They didn’t know we stood so tall,
But they will come to know.

I think that's why I misread what today is. I was thinking it's a day of rememberance.

The Day of Terror
Oh my Country,
My Country
Now you are stricken
At morning light,
By mayhem most foul!
Behold the terror that grips the skies
As the smoke billows across the land
Behold the petty vengeance of America’s enemies
As hundreds and thousands panic
As fear takes hold
And rules the airwaves
As you listen to the radio,
Wonder about your loved ones,
And whether you shall see them again
Wonder whether this is the end or
Just the beginning
And know, things will never be the same again
Howl for justice,
For retribution against those
Who have wrought havoc upon our nation
And deal with the uncertainty of not knowing
Who the culprit is
Try to go about your day
Try to hold back the tears
And the anger
To write your papers
And attend your classes
See your brother
So long alien from his father,
Call and talk with him for the first time in ages
See churches fill and people pray
Like they never have before
Pray for peace
For an end to the confusion
-Adam Graham

The Day of Terror, Part Two

It’s a normal day, I suppose,
As I drive down the road,
Such as I was doing one year ago,
When a voice was heard
Over the radio
“A plane’s hit the Trade Center”
Just an accident, I thought,
But as we’d find out later,
An accident it was not

Driving home from computer class that morn,
I discovered that one had become two,
And that the most horrific fears of man,
Had finally come true
The thought like rubbish is shoved away
As I pull into my parking spot
On this cool September day.

In my training class there is a test,
The day’s dress has been made casual,
So that people may look patriotic
Even if they don’t look their best
Still most merely dress casually,
Not focusing nor remembering that day
When an intrepid reporter roamed through
Dust and soot,
Seeking the stories of those who saw
And bore the brunt of the worst,
Then finding himself running through the streets
Seeking to save his life
As 110 toppling stories destroyed husbands and wives

Question from the quiz:
”What do you need to connect to the Internet?”
What does it matter when the
World can fall on top of you
At any moment,
Taking away your loved ones
And friends in a flight
Of Hateful vengeance?
When after Tower 2 has fallen,
And like a beacon of hope stands Tower 1,
Until both hope and it fall to the ground
With a violent force
As the New York landscape is marred
By those who are the worst

“Now let’s go and learn this tool,”
With which we shall assist some poor fool,
Who after you get off the phone
Will be undone in the morning cool,
As terrorists make his wife a widow,
As over you, they seek to rule
While Shepherd Smith of Fox
Views the destruction of that plane-shaped bomb,
He says quietly, “Say, a prayer, America.”

“Lets take a break,
And then
Lets head on over to ESPN”
While we await flying death
To destroy us in the midst of our last breath,
As Shepherd pauses and says,
“Say a prayer, America”

Lunch, it’s finally time to go,
I need food today
But I’ll skip that for this time
I need my lovely wife more,
I need her to hold me,
For this is a blessing of life,
For in her arms, it’ll all be okay,
Even if this is America’s saddest day.

You see, they killed 3,000
In four deadly swoops,
They still seek to kill us,
Even as they’re hunted by our troops,
Though the cleanup’s over,
The bodies buried,
The Taliban no more,
Yet, my dear Americans
We are still at war
The terror they’ve put in the depths of our soul
Will haunt us as long as we live,
For though the terrorist attack is over,
The terror’s just begun,
And until that fear is conquered,
The war has not been won.
