Call your mom yet? I did, but she was going out, so we got to talk just for a few minutes. I'll call back later this evening. Did you have a nice get-together with the wife and kids?

I'd Rather
I'd rather be a Mother ...
than anyone on earth
Bringing up a child or two ...
of unpretentious birth
I'd rather nurse a rosy babe ...
with warm lips on my breast
Than wear a queen's medallion ...
above a heart less blessed.
I'd rather tuck a little child ...
all safe and sound in bed
Than twine a chain of diamonds ...
about my foolish head.
I'd rather wash a smudgy face ...
with round, bright baby eyes,
Than paint the pageantry of fame ...
or walk among the wise
~ Greetings From The Heart ~

I was the oldest of five so I was the tallest when I was nine.
Oooops, did I just tell me age?
I hope others will post family pictures. I wish my scanner was working. Darn it.

Wow! Look at the hairstyle!
I had very long hair as a child, and sometimes would make 2 braids and wrap them around my head.

My Mother's Eyes
1929
by L. Wolfe Gilbert / Abel Baer
Vaudevillian Georgie Jessel's theme song.
Back in childhood days,
I can remember loving caresses showered on me.
Mother's eyes would gaze at me so tender,
What was their meaning? Now I can see.
One bright and guiding light,
That taught me wrong from right,
I found in my mother's eyes.
Those baby tales she told,
That road all paved in gold,
I found in my mother's eyes.
Just like a wandering sparrow,
One lonely soul.
I walked the straight and narrow,
To reach my goal.
God's gift sent from above,
A real unselfish love,
I found in my mother's eyes.
When I'm all alone, no one around me,
I find the future dark as can be.
Sorrows I have known, always surround me,
Then through the shadows, I always see.
One bright and guiding light,
That taught me wrong from right,
I found in my mother's eyes.
Those baby tales she told,
That road all paved in gold,
I found in my mother's eyes.
Just like a wandering sparrow,
One lonely soul.
I walked the straight and narrow,
To reach my goal.
God's gift sent from above,
A real unselfish love,
I found in my mother's eyes.

Hi everyone, and happy mom's day. I've good news to report - my webspace is up and running, along with instructions on how to upload stuff to it! So, I'm going to try to upload a couple pictures, and then... some music. Bear with me while I try to get this right :)
