Findings from a new North Dakota State University survey reveal that the majority of students identifying as liberal or liberal-leaning are not proud of America.
In response to the question “Are you proud to be American?” 57 percent of liberal identifying students answered ‘no’. This is in contrast to the 73 percent majority of conservatives who answered ‘yes’ to the same question.
This response was generated from a nationwide survey which asked over 400,000 students from more than 1,000 American college campuses questions about their feelings on a number of social and political issues. NDSU publicly announced the survey on Thursday.
Campus Reform reached out to NDSU professors John Bitzan and Clay Routledge, the survey designers, who explained their surprised reaction to the data.
“This is a surprising result. Previous work done by Clay Routledge shows that most Americans are proud to be American, regardless of political party, gender, race, religion, income, or employment status. We don’t know why college students answered in this way, but the differences between answers by college students and the general population on a very similar question seem to suggest something unique that is worth further exploration,” the professors jointly commented.

Later questions in the section addressing socialism found a much more favorable reception among liberal respondents, however. 47 percent had a positive association with socialism, while only 13 percent felt negatively about it.
Sigh. Some people will only learn the hard way. And that means a lot of trouble for the rest of us too.
My old sig on Freerepublic:
I feel like I’m living in Dr. Zhivago, but without the love triangle.
So a Love Square? Love Octangle? Love anything?
Yeah. Where's Julie Christie?!
Not positive this is true, but a recent college graduate was in a serious car accident and needed major brain surgery. When they opened the skull, all they found was an echo.
Well then you must live in a bubble or a cave
I dunno. They were both pretty cute. At least, for Russian girls. :D
Who knew?
I think it would be a really good experience for all those airheads to spend a couple of years in Venezuela with a few side trips to Cuba.
Maybe enrollment standards in higher education should require a 90 day stay in a socialist utopia like Venezuela before filing an enrollment application?

Marxist Feminism’s Ruined Lives
The horror I witnessed inside the women’s “liberation” movement.
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Winston Churchill wrote this over a century ago.
During my junior year in high school, the nuns asked about our plans for after we graduated. When I said I was going to attend State University, I noticed their disappointment. I asked my favorite nun, “Why?” She answered, “That means you’ll leave four years later a communist and an atheist!”
What a giggle we girls had over that. “How ridiculously unsophisticated these nuns are,” we thought. Then I went to the university and four years later walked out a communist and an atheist, just as my sister Katie had six years before me.
Sometime later, I was a young divorcee with a small child. At the urging of my sister, I relocated to NYC after spending years married to an American executive stationed in Southeast Asia. The marriage over, I was making a new life for my daughter and me. Katie said, “Come to New York. We’re making revolution! Some of us are starting the National Organization of Women and you can be part of it.”
I hadn’t seen her for years. Although she had tormented me when we were youngsters, those memories were faint after my Asian traumas and the break-up of my marriage. I foolishly mistook her for sanctuary in a storm. With so much time and distance between us, I had forgotten her emotional instability.
And so began my period as an unwitting witness to history. I stayed with Kate and her lovable Japanese husband, Fumio, in a dilapidated loft on The Bowery as she finished her first book, a PhD thesis for Columbia University, “Sexual Politics.”...
Surprised it is that low after 20 yrs of brainwashing.
All the back to earth types love Cuba’s agricultural practices and many go down to study it. Cuba hasn’t had access to man made fertilizers or pesticides but they had to figure out how to grow food or starve.
There are plenty of socialist utopias to choose from, go live in one, and shorten your struggle.
Meanwhile, leave the USA alone, we like it here!
Shows the brainwashing is working in the K-12 “schools,” doesn’t it?
They have NO idea what they’re fantasizing about.
Anyone who romanticizes socialism or communism should be made to spend a month in Venezuela or Cuba.
They’d come screaming back to the U.S.
There should be a work abroad summer internship required for those students. Might I recommend Cuba or some other socialist crap country.
Soon the headline will read: "Majority of employees at fast food franchises not proud to be American, favor socialism, NDSU survey finds"
My daughter recently went to Mexico with some friends. I told her “never go somewhere where the locals are trying to escape”. Keeps with Mexican army armed with machine guns, of course bad water, etc. She couldn’t get back fast enough. Her travel plans for Cuba have now been cancelled.
the Obamajugend have been indoctrinated since 2009.
Mmmmm mmmm mmmmmmmmm.
NEXT QUESTION:
Is there any country in the world which you would be proud to be a citizen of? And why?
Dumbstruck.
