Many FReepers have knowledge to share about improving and maintaining health and would like to share it and learn from others; and others may not know much yet but want to learn. Some of us don't have much money for good insurance or doctors, some want to try other methods besides prescription meds, and some have experience in treating and solving health problems.
More and more "regular" doctors have accepted treatment methods such as the benefits of acupuncture, massage for many conditions, better diet, use of herbs and so on. There are limits, and often side effects, to some standard medical efforts.
My field is Ayurvedic herbalism and related measures, and have a lot of information I can post when I have time. I have seen herbs and sometimes dietary changes help people (including myself) with issues such as rheumatoid arthritis, high BP, gallstones, kidneystones, repeated boils, UTIs, prostate problems, insomnia, allergies, urinary incontinence, and many more. I hope to learn a lot from others with their knowledge and experience.
There are many "old fashioned" home care methods that were in common use a few generations ago that actually work and are cheap, such as castor oil packs, fomentations using alternating hot and cold water, and the like, which are easy to do. I am sure there is a lot of knowledge here on Free Republic that can be shared.
I would like this thread to stay civil without distruption, so my request is that people who think natural health methods are bunkum, make your own thread.
Thanks, was overlooked by me.
.
I’ll keep that in mind. There was a woman interviewed on youtube sometime during the past month on sgtreport. He’s a gold/crypto guy who also comments on the storm. He gave her plenty of time on his channel.
The phrase “former Scientologist” tends to add to a person’s accumulated credibility, possibly more than it discredits them.

here’s one. I’ll try to post more in a bit. Google prostate iodine and more info comes up.
enlargement of the prostate is the same as a goiter; the tissue expands to find iodine and when it receives it it shrinks back down.
thank you so much. I am definitely checking it out
Thank you for sharing the links.
It makes sense and meshes with other info I know.
Well, he then started his “own” church.
Anyway, whatever his personal beliefs, chlorine dioxide is dangerous and should never be ingested by people.
Thank you, I am just getting back to this thread and probably won’t have much time until tomorrow. I have a friend with EBV and has a lot of health issues. I will share this info with her.
Is there a test to see if one has the virus? I had mono in high school.
Cascara is too...explosive! I use Triphala (Ayurvedic blend) for intestinal detoxing, is gentle and does a lot of other things too.
We make CS and use it externally.
I hate hanging upside down, DH has some sort of table he goes head down on. I can’t stand it. :-)
I eat vegetarian plus milk products.
I need to exercise more.
I will be posting more tomorrow. Just a few short ones today. I will get to the herbs for sleep/stress/pain.
Banana peel, I will try. It is a plantar wort and I’ve tried thuja oil, oregano oil (eos), regular pads from drug store, and now cider vinegar. Vinegar has worked the best but it is not totally eradicated. Does the peel work if only on at night?
I will add your name. I have a lot of info on my computer (if I can find...) primarily Ayurveda, which is my niche. Bacopa is an amazing herb; Ayurveda has quite a few herbs which help the mind/cognition and nervous system. I’m happy the toddler was helped!
Good news about your husband. I deal with my asthma with EOs and also avoiding that which aggravates it.
I got my BP normalized with herbs. I can suggest some soon. My numbers were 160-140/100, for quite some time. Now averages about 125/65 unless somethings’ going on. It took a few months, and taking thyroid supporting herbs helped too.
I'd never heard that before, but it definitely rung a bell about something I've experienced over the past few months.
My PSA has always been very good, in the lower quarter of the normal range. But I had experienced some prostate enlargement in recent years. Six or eight months ago I began to experience waking at night for trips to the bathroom. At first only once, and then more until it had progressed to three and four times some nights late last year and early this year. Very difficult to get a decent night's sleep.
Also, two or three years ago, I started buying pink, Himalayan salt and gradually used it more and more often. Of course, it is not iodized. I probably replaced about half my salt usage with it. I also bought a bottle of a liquid iodine supplement which I used occasionally, but nowhere near daily.
Then, six or eight weeks ago, I decided to start using the liquid iodine daily and have keep it up since. Three or four weeks ago, those three and four wake ups per night began to decrease until now I'm only waking up only once per night and at times not at all.
Until I read your comment last night, I'd never heard that iodine deficiency could be related to prostate problems. One anecdote doesn't prove anything, but I unwittingly conducted an experiment and those three or four wake ups per night have been almost eliminated after a few weeks of daily iodine supplementation.
I've just been using the recommended three drops for the MDR, but doubled it today to see if that might get even better results.
no left it on whenever we weren’t getting bathed...would just put a fresh piece on daily.
If you had Mono you may very well have the virus in your body.
is there a particular brand/type of collagen worth getting?
