On the day after Pope Francis spoke to Congress about the dangers of violent extremism in the name of religious fundamentalism, presidential candidate Ted Cruz, appearing at a Values Voter summit, threatened to murder Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
The Texas senator vowed that, if elected, he would rip to shreds the Iranian agreement deal recently passed through Congress, and kill the countrys leader if it didnt give up its nuclear ambitions.
If the Ayatollah doesnt understand that, we may have to help introduce him to the 72 virgins, Cruz said to wild cheers from the audience of conservative Christians.
The senator also stated to great applause that any jihadists trying to enter a military recruiting station would be greeted by the gun barrels of a dozen marines.
The comments came one day after the head of the Catholic church urged members of Congress to embrace their better nature and work to not fall prey to violence and fundamentalism:
All of us are quite aware of, and deeply worried by, the disturbing social and political situation of the world today. Our world is increasingly a place of violent conflict, hatred and brutal atrocities, committed even in the name of God and of religion. We know that no religion is immune from forms of individual delusion or ideological extremism. This means that we must be especially attentive to every type of fundamentalism, whether religious or of any other kind.

As a smart guy once said on CNBC...
China has central planning by mathematicians, scientists, and engineers, and the US has central planning by lawyers. Neither is good, but by default they win.
Americans have hated the Ayatollah Assahola since the seventies. Why would this pantywaste have a problem with what he said? The Assahola would toss him off a building, if given the chance.
Pope..’Peace on Earth, Good will toward men.’
Ayatollah..’Kill, Kill, Kill’.
Fanatical muslims are bullies — it’s why they are attracted to that branch of Islam in the first place.
And like all bullies, they cow in fear when confronted with strength.
LOL, I’m with him, but I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting a thread that begins with the words, “Ted Cruz threatens to kill...”
:)
In Iran, why not just wait it out? You’ve got factions in Iran, too, and you know the US will end up arming the wrong guys. That’s something the US has been very good at.
Why, I would think that's obvious.
Haven't you heard of Cruz missiles?
:)
I’m sure that Cruz meant that in the same spirit as the Ayatollah and his minions when they speak of death to America and Israel :^
Cruz missiles! I love it and laughed too loudly in my doctors office.
oh boo fricking hoo
probably is upset that Hitler and crew are dead
Heartbreaking. Nottttttttttt!
dang!
Murder sweet Ali Khamenei? The guy who planning on killing millions of Americans and Israeli’s? That sweet guy?
Say it ain’t so!
Just go home and celebrate, then.
With "conservatives" like you...
I have an Iranian friend and she’s absolutely positive that the ayatollah is an Indian, not Iranian. If you look that dirty do he does look Indian. When you meet the average Iranian, they are good looking people and the Ayatollah has a sort of granny-apple face that is not Iranian.
Executive orders only apply to employees working in the administration or within the bureaucracy, not the President. Any president who decides to Norin Executive Order is perfectly empiwered to do so.
An executive order put in place by Carter is perfectly able to be ignored by any President.
Sounds like a plan to me. If Cruz keeps speaking like this, I see his numbers rising rapidly.
Another Headline doesn’t match the Story situation huh?
Ted wants to open an Ashley Madison Account for the Iranian Leader so he can meet 72 Virgins and he is accused of wanting to Murder him?
