One of the key lines in that video (2:20) is where the black security guard (I guess that's her position) says: "Listen. You have to remember that if the police officer tells you something to do, you don't do it, you're actually resisting."

But if it involves a Harvard black professor then this rules need not apply.

As a retired Police Officer (32 years service) I have to say that Policeman should be severely reprimanded for the stupid actions on his part. Give a copy of that video to the Mayor and demand action now. Good Grief.

look at aprox. 1:02 min, the car in the background...is that an unmarked police car?

OK, I’ll admit I’m very green and never been to a protest. I can understand the officer being concerned about fanning flames over an incendiary situation and therefore not allowing the sign with the Joker-painted face of Obama.

It's a judgement call, yes, but he still does not seem to have an official rationale for his request. But what's most telling in this video is the officer openly supporting his point of view by claiming "This ain't America, no more."

BTW, unless you were being sarcastic, read up on signs at Bush protests. Prepare to be sickened.

That ‘gentleman’ looks like he is a member of the Fairfax County Public School Security Forces....He does make a statement in there that the sign can’t be on school property and he is ‘just doing my job’. I stopped the clip a few times and about 3/4 the way through I THINK his patch reads “Fairfax County Public Schools”....probably a step above rent-a-cop, not even sure if they let them do crossing guard duties and even when Police assigned to
School, it is usually a Fairfax County Police Officer.
So the school board should be the route to ferret this idiot out, using the excuse that “Dummies of this nature have no business being around ‘brains full of mush’ (Thanks Rush).

The poster in the video was designed by a fellow FReeper, Jeff Head. I was at the event. The Lyndon Larouche crowd had their Obama as Hitler poster with Obama wearing a Hitler mustache and that was allowed.

The school was being used after hours for a political event. There were all kinds of political posters there. In essence, it was no longer a school, but a venue for a political event.
