I've been told that Seattle probably has the closest climate to Ireland in the USA.

I think I heard that from our old rector who was from Ireland, County Clare.

Some years ago the wife and I were touring the Gaidhealtachd (Scotland) in early October. The B&B proprieters were constantly apologising for the cool, drippy weather. We just kept telling them, "We're from Seattle; It's Just Like Home!"
