A new 3D map of Uranus is shedding light on one of the solar system's most mysterious planets.

Using NASA's James Webb Space Telescope, scientists observed the ice giant for nearly a full rotation, revealing the inner workings of its upper atmosphere for the first time.

The team, led by Paola Tiranti from Northumbria University, mapped out the temperature and density of ions in the electrically–charged layer that sits 3,100 miles (5,000km) above the cloud tops.

Here we go....
Clearly the Daily Mail produced that headline to get maximum clicks....
The 7th grade joke is startng to get old....
Uranus (also spelled Ouranos) was the Greek god of the skys and the heavens. The Romans called him Caelus. The mythology of Uranus is quite convoluted...one Greek dude says he was the son, and mate of Gaia(earth)...and fathered the Titans..gets may more convoluted after that...
Either edumucate the public in English speaking countries or change the name...

Any proctologists care to weigh in?

Not one, butt my dad described an examination:

"After a sedative the doc told me to bend over and relax. Let's see. He put his right hand on my right shoulder and...

No, that's not right. He put his left hand on my left shoulder...

HEY! He had ONE hand on EACH of my shoulders!"

There will be no original jokes made on this thread because the 12 year old mentality that named the planet is incapable of originality.

William Herschel , who discovered this planet, wanted to name it Georgium Sidus, after King George. Due to its near 90 tilt the poles experience 40 years of darkness followed by 40 years of continuous sunlight.

What do the starship Enterprise and toilet paper have in common?
They’re both flying past Uranus looking for Klingons.
