I’ve researched the carnivore diet, and meat provides all the essential amino acids and vitamins the body needs. It also provides essential fats required for energy without elevating insulin levels used to burn carbohydrates like sugar. Some essential vitamins like D3 must be supplemented in climates with reduced sunlight.

What I like about eliminating grains, bread, rice, and sugar is the reduction in bloating and abdominal inflammation from microbiome fermentation.

Not all protein is alike.
There is animal protein and plant protein.
Even Jello is protein but it lacks an essential amino acid, tryptophan which makes it an incomplete protein.
Most plant based proteins are incomplete. If they are based on milk they are more balanced.
The perfect protein, with all the essential amino acids in the right proportions, is an egg.

So just because a product says it supplies so many grams of protein, it does not mean your body can use it.

I have eaten roasted grasshoppers and beattle grubs on a dare when I was in Thailand. I understand why John the Baptist are the locust with honey, they need it. The beattle grubs tasted like scrambled eggs and was ok if you could get past what it was.

2 grams per pound of ideal body weight is getting into “too much”.

at least that’s what I read a while back when I looked into it.

The perfect protein, with all the essential amino acids in the right proportions, is an egg.

The cooked egg is one of the few foods that your body will consume completely.

You CAN eat them. But even in HG societies they are considered “starvation food”. The chitin can cause problems like constipation.

Feed the bugs to your chickens and eat the resulting eggs.

Much more healthy.

My wife and I started carnivore since February. She’s lost about 30 pounds, and I’ve lost some too. I like it.

I use whey protein shakes which has 30mg of protein then a few other things to bring it to the recommended 60mg’s. Just saying.

It states in the Bible that we can eat grasshoppers and I presume that includes crickets. John the Baptist survived on locust and honey.

“I’ve researched the carnivore diet, and meat provides all the essential amino acids and vitamins the body needs. “

Not so.

Folate, Vitamins C and E...all essential...come from plant sources.

Can I eat an all-protein diet? Yes, technically you could. But it wouldn’t be good for you.

Dr. Jordan Peterson is pretty much on an all-red meat diet for several years and he looks good, and says he feels fine. There's some fat in there, but I guarantee you he's getting more than a few ounces or protein a day.
