Accelerated aging — when someone’s biological age is greater than their chronological age — could increase the risk of cancer tumors. That’s according to new research presented this week at the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting in San Diego, California.
“Historically, both cancer and aging have been viewed primarily as concerns for older populations,” Ruiyi Tian, MPH, a graduate student at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and one of the study researchers, told Fox News Digital.
“The realization that cancer, and now aging, are becoming significant issues for younger demographics over the past decades was unexpected.”

Thankfully, they have a vaccine for that too.
What on earth could be the cause of this? Scientists are completely baffled.................🙄
a/k/a = Turbo Cancers related to (you know what)
Well...eating mostly processed food could be a factor....

Do Cancer and Cancer Treatments Accelerate Aging?
ALL we have is a question. NO Answers.
It is fairly obvious what will be blamed.

An interesting quote
“Incident cancers were ascertained from the cancer registries in England, Wales, and Scotland, where complete follow-up was available through February 29, 2020.”
I need to hear from DogFaceDork and exDem-mem-madam before I “know” the “truth”.
The rest of you FReepers - maybe just flip a coin, draw a card, go see palm reader.

Yes, as a function of being overweight mostly. Your medical age is a factor derived from height, weight and any medical conditions that fall outside a demographic "normal". It is arbitrary in that sense like having your BMI compared to an Ethiopian.
Anecdotally, I look at pictures on youtube for random events in the USA and see a lot, maybe >30% of the young people meeting the criteria for being obese.
We don’t know what could be causing this phenomenon. Have no idea. But we do know absolutely, positively, without a doubt what certainly is NOT the cause. Isn’t science great?
Even with my terrible health, I’m frequently mistaken for ten or fifteen years younger than my age.
That’s it. I thought I’d rub salt in the wound.
But hasn’t this country been doing that for generations?
Not eating enough meat.
I’m for it.
Oh, yeah...I think of me at age 10, (1960s), very wiry girl, and look at relatives that ae now.
Maybe I should have said “fast food?”
“Accelerated aging”...is that like the new buzzword the left uses...like they accuse the right with DEI?
Me thinks too many carbs.
But are people eating more fast food than previous ages? Obesity and diabetes rates have been going up since at least 1980.
