Brain tumor glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a disease for which 30% of adults diagnosed survive one year after diagnosis, and only 3% of patients live longer than five years.
GBM surgery is assisted by the use of fluorescent photosensitiser (PS) drugs. One such PS is Protoporphyrin IX (PpIX), a metadrug of exogenously administered 5-aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA). PpIX can precisely guide GBM resection as its prodrug 5-ALA very specifically accumulates in GBM lesions due to structural and functional differences in the vicinity of the GBM tumors.
Scientists have found that apart from being a photosensitive drug, 5-ALA is also a potent inhibitor of the glycolytic enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (LDH). This is a very important finding since most tumor cells draw energy from glycolysis, or the breakdown of glucose, in contrast to healthy cells. Interrupting the glycolysis in cancer cells can force them to die as they are unable to cover their energy needs from other sources. This is a well-established approach in cancer therapy, and LDH has been identified as a target in many anticancer strategies.
The advantage of 5-ALA as an inhibitor of LDH, and consequently of glycolysis, is that it specifically accumulates in GBM tumors. Hence the disruption of the "sugar" breakdown in GBM cells that can lead to their demise. This development opens avenues for other types of cancer.
Dr. Theodossis Theodossiou said, "The fact that 5-ALA is approved for the detection of malignant gliomas and GBM makes our findings more valuable and easier to apply in the clinic. For detection purposes, 5-ALA is only applied to patients for a few hours, which is not enough to kill the cancer cells by glycolysis disruption. However, prolonged administration for one or several days could lead to surprising, even curative results, in a disease which is currently incurable and lethal."

There now appears to be a cure for glioblastoma.
Dear God, let it be so! My daughter is a Radiologic Technologist at a children's hospital, and she's usually the first to see these types of cancers - it's just terrible!
I’ve had a few friends die of gbm. It is a wicked fast cancer. This would be a welcome avenue for treatment.
Bill O’Reilly was just talking about a food compass Tufts University came out with. About half an hour ago.
Basically stay away from fast food and sugary drinks, especially soft drinks, sweet tea and the like.
A close passed away from this 12 years ago..in the prime of his life.
A co-worker just passed from this a month ago, 14mos after being diagnosed.
Praying it’s truly a cure 🙏🏻
My wife was diagnosed with glioblastoma multiforme WHO Grade IV unmetylated wildtype 14 months ago. The tumor was larger than a jumbo egg. She went through 30 radiation treatments and 72 doses of Temodar chemo. While she was about half way through the radiation treatments I started her on fenbendazole and Tumeric. By October the remaining tumor shrunk over 40%. A few months later the tumor was gone. Her last 4 MRIs are cancer free.
Fenbendazole is supposed to prevent micro tubular cells from processing glucose. The theory is that it staves the cancer stem cells. We will see if it continues to work past the 2 year mark.
Congrats
It’s ridiculous that they published this without first trying to cure some dying patients. This is typical of current day medicine.
Tufts claims that Cheerios is a health food, so I am somewhat doubtful of their secret methodology. Maybe General Foods is their corporate sponsor?
Wonderful news. Prayers.
Good for you and your wife! During a routine chest x-ray while I was in the hospital for a stent, they found a growth in one lung. As soon as I got home I started taking fenbendazole which is a dog wormer PanacurC. In a month when I went for a PET scan and diagnosis, the growth had shrunk to almost nothing. Ivermectin is also used in cancer treatment.
Only 2 months too late for my dad.

Good deal! Positive side effect from administration of dye!
And yet where is all this technology in fighting cancer? Still using Chemo and Radiation which destroys the good along with the bad. Caner is just Big Business and they Medical Cartels do not really want any real answer or cures, or treatments because it would put a lot of people out of work and depress the profits of Big Pharma.
Amazing!
My Daughter never ate sugar in her adult life - she was a health food nut. She lasted 18 months before she passed away from a glioblastoma.
We have been hearing about cures for many years, but most procedures are still - operation to remove the tumor, high doses of Radiation and months of Chemo. All with the same results.
if the glucose isn't processed, what becomes of it?
I lost a brother to the covid death protocols and all you do when a dearly loved one dies is ask "what if"?..."what if"?.."what if"?.....
My Dad died of glioblastoma of the brainstem in 1988.
