Meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom,' NASA says
The “bright fireball” was traveling at 35,000 mph when it exploded at 8:03 a.m. with the “energy equivalent of 3 tons of TNT,” according to NASA Meteor Watch, the agency's project that tracks fireball activity.
“Existing law states that any meteorites belong to the owner of the property on which they fell; out of respect for the privacy of those in the area, we will not disclose the locations of these finds,”
And finding anything of value is likely harder than you think.
“The pieces from this object were way too small to leave a crater. Unlike what you see in the movies, meteorites are not ‘flaming rocks of doom’ that blast holes in the ground. In fact, you can pick one up right after it hits ground. So no smoking rocks in small craters.”

Have a safe and wonderful trip!
Good morning and happy weekend!
I’m glad you and FS got to hang out for a bit, ‘Face.
Poor Princess dog. Most pooches don’t like the sky yelling at them. Most kittehs don’t either, though my meezer is unfazed by it. It has been a very rare occurrence this year anyway.
I’m on the four-train again. (Stupid word.)

It was too stupid a word for my brain, for sure! LOL!
Good job on the four!!
Thanks about my FS. He’s on his way to Eureka Springs today to the annual VW show. (Awesome event!!) A friend of his wants to buy a VW and went to the local who is the most experienced in VWs! FS restores them and sells them.
Very cool!
My first car was a VW. As were several of my friends’ first cars. Good memories.
I wish I could afford one that worked!!
Yay for you!

Lucky guess on the third.
I would really love an old VW because they are so basic. But I would need one with a good heater for the winter.
Very busy morning but it has slacked off a bit. Kids at the local schools will be starting back Monday.
Ours will start back the sixth as their school does not start until after Labor Day. Oldest Daughter and Son are pouting because they will have to give up their hobbies and learn boring ol’ book stuff. Life is tough.
Not a word I liked, today! LOL!
FS has loved VWs since we were stationed in Germany when he was six. For a while there, he was buying, restoring and selling one about every 18 months. This last one he’s had for about four years. He’s working on a convertible, now, but the weather here has been so weird this year.
The heat from the VW engine is what warms up the car. Go like 60 and you’ll be warm in no time!
I think school starts here on Monday, but I’m not associated with anyone who has school-age kids, and have no working vehicle so I dunno...
My bookcases are full of books I didn’t read when I was in school!
Their school is private and the parents decided to give up spring break in exchange for school not starting until after Labor Day and ending the Friday before Memorial Day.
The starting before Labor Day make no sense as they go to school four days, have a four day week end and then have another four day week.
Tuesday we are going to be making rounds of the thrift stores looking for books for the store, clothes for everybody and glasses for my mother.
I love half price days.
Good morning. All fine here in The Villages. Kathleen and I will go to church in about an hour. It’s nearby.
Yeah, I get that!
We always started after Labor Day, but I always thought it was because we lived in a farming community and the kids were needed to harvest crops. We got out about the third week in May and again I thought it was for planting. No snow days.
I just donated five boxes of books. Had I known you were looking, I could have sent them to you. I love thrift stores and sales racks. Lots of good finds!
Good morning.
I’ve been gathering wool this morning, and now it’s time for my shower. I wanted to sleep another hour. *sigh*
Sure is quiet around here without that kitteh! If I can figure out how to do it...
In the meantime, there is this:

Our school always started right after Labor Day, no matter where we lived and as Navy brats, that was all over the place. We always went to around the first week in June.
Here, the kiddos have already been in school a week and they’ll get out in May.
And boy howdy, you can sure tell that the college kids are back.
A gamer kitteh! A very cute one.
Good morning and thank you very much for the kitteh!!
I’ve found lots of cats, but I don’t know how to post them here. It would have to be step-by-step in the simplest of terms because of the learning disability inherent with CFIDS.
So far, I don’t even know how to search for that.
Yeah, I think the bye-word for the fiver is “Great.” Not quite as classy as “Splendid!” but as long as it isn’t X/6 I can handle it all!
Good job!
Now I’ve started to ask myself why I’m even playing the game. And then I come up with about 15 answers! 😊
