Why over the last 20 yrs plus will the search is still not working???? I select KEYWORD and it still keeps the TITLE in the search. I delete it and nothing is found.....

‘Work” can be a subjective term. It works, just not in the way you expect it. Still, it remains a great tool for 1996.

they have said that to me too.
(mostly when I did not even try using search cause it doesn’t work)
normally I just use ctrl-f and use some kind of likely keyword, or assume I am unique

I know how to search. I can't find.
I will try dropping the default *, then maybe I won't have an asterisk...

I doubt 90 in 100 Freepers has ever performed a successful search. I will happily eat crow if proven otherwise. I'm in that 90-100 because I use the search engine all the time. Keep in mind that keyword searches only search listed keywords.

Keep it to a single word that’s fairly unique to that title, or search on the front article page with your browser find function, if you’re posting a new article.

Take a deeper look at your particular search engine's commands. For instance, if you are using Google and you want to know more about my own unworthy ass, put in the search term: “site:freerepublic.com wmarshal”
and you will find a lot of my rants for your reading pleasure.
