I have been posting articles on FR off and on for 22 years, and in that time I have become very good at using HTML to create the type of posts I like. Yet ever since FR changed the carrier of the site, none of my links work on articles I post. I have not changed what I use as HTML code, it's just that what I use does not work on FR any more. And not only links, but much of the HTML on my profile page is all screwed up as well.
Is there a logical reason for this?
thx
oh hell yeah
LOL!
(Chocolate Pie???)
Hey, that sounds like the same problem those transgenders have! :-)
Hell, I have to log in from scratch every day........
Something got broken it seems.

Check the quote marks so you use these “ “
Your problem is almost certainly due to your use of fancy quotation marks. The advice you received to use notepad to compose your HTML was, IMHO, absolutely correct.
Also I had some problems with cut and paste adding in spaces in link code. Watch out for that. FR does not handle it well.
I noticed the same thing, but that is not how I coded it. My master only has one “ where FR has two.
That is something FR added, it is not in my copy.
Those double quotes were not what I posted. Before I posted all the Links worked properly in Preview, it wasn’t’t until after that the double quotes showed up
If you look at my post for, the post “Why Worry Christian”. You will see the same thing, yet they are not in the master I wrote in my word program which I copied over.
NO, I did not, those were added by FRs software
I would agree, but when I did preview before posting each and every link worked properly. It was not a function of the Word program, it is something that was added after I hut post, because it was not there during preview
My Windows 10 PC has a built-in "Character Map" applet that I have on my main a menu that I can click on to verify a character is the recognized standard. I'm thinking maybe your pro-mac word processor might have an option to "dumb itself down" to only use unembellished character sets, maybe?
Well you are probably correct as well. The FR software code for the preview manages your HTML with the the funky quotes just fine. But the code managing the posting apparently doesn’t.
If this does turn out to be the problem it is something Jim could fix. But in the short run I would stick with Notepad.
go to keyboard on your device and turn off smart punctuation.
“This is just an experiment”.
I just noticed that my Preview of the above has the funky quotes. That was a surprise to me. I want to see how they look when posted.
I admit I missed the errors on the comment, I knew it the moment I posted it. My comments at times are not as clean at times, but my posts I give extra attention to the details. As you can see if you visit my profile page. I am very diligent on posts, comments at times not so much so since many times I am commenting from my phone and my big fingers get in the way.
Still funky after posting. I’m surprised. Maybe it’s not the quotes.
I use a Mac, I do not see such a key. I even looked into my system preferences and do not see any such animal
I do not have this problem anywhere else either, just with FR
