Just wait until the numbers go way up this week. The percentage of deaths will go way down, but the fake news won’t report that.

This isn’t exactly new. It’s been the pattern ever since he was elected. Water off a duck’s back. Trump has Twitter and his e-mail list.

And for this, we shut down the world’s largest economy?

3,660 - Currently Infected Patients
3,650 - in Mild Condition
10 - Serious or Critica

I’m with you friend. I’m so sick of them I can scream I can really scream!!!!!

These Bastard reporters. Like the minutia detailed criticism of Trump’s comments regarding Google.

Has anybody in the newspaper or cable news network pointed out that Obama did absolutely nothing to protect us from the swine flu virus?

Note the parabolic shape of “Active Cases in the United States” graph. The “Total Coronavirus Deaths in the United States”” graph is starting to follow in its footsteps. If unchecked by measures to stop the spread that include mandatory quarantines (that may include minimum security prisoner furloughs and the requisition of prisons to house quarantined individuals in an easy to monitor environment) and regulations re large gatherings, we may soon see hundreds of deaths per day. Just like Italy.

Two points. One - overreaction costs are mainly economic while underreaction costs are in lives lost. No one is going to starve to death from any economic contraction. The Green Revolution a century ago means that 1% of the population produces enough food to make the other 99% obese, with enough surplus to export to godforsaken places like China.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Revolution

Two - this is an election year. The elderly tend to vote for Trump. Leaving aside the purely humanitarian aspects of mass death and illness, we don’t want the elderly shunted off to an early grave or ICU’s so that Democratic ballot harvesters can turn them into Biden voters. We need to put Trump back in office for another term. To do that, we must get this pandemic under control, and soon, to keep elderly voters healthy. And if that means losing a few points of GDP in the next few quarters, so be it. We’ll get them all back once Trump is in for a second term.

Another issue is this - you know how we get cranked up over the occasional GI death in Afghanistan, amounting to dozens per year? If we get to hundreds of deaths a day from the coronavirus, Trump is going to get hammered day in and day out. The beating Trump will take over that daily body count is not to be underestimated. And while it will be unfair, it will also be true that they occurred on his watch.

The deaths from the huge economic dislocations ALREADY in the pipeline will be vastly greater than any caused by the Wehu Flu. Suicides, heart attacks, etc.

Out of frustration, I’ve emailed my local news media multiple times that the leftist corruption of the entire MSM goes all the way down to the local level.

Local news readers are just as guilty as the big talking heads of leading this country towards communism, and they should not escape a reckoning shall the SHTF.

You can say that about any policy. The practical and political reality is that those deaths can’t easily be attributed to Trump. Inaction over the coronavirus means that any deaths due to the disease will be attributed to him just as surely as if he had injected the virus directly into their lungs. If we get hundreds of thousands of coronavirus deaths this year, the GOP is finished for a generation. Not just because Trump will lose the election, but because the political fallout from this failure will mark the GOP for decades to come. It will come off as stupid and incompetent.

Thank you for your sensible post. People who spout off about the low number of cases ought to watch last Monday’s NBA-player Rudy Gobert interview. At the end he mocked the situation by stepping back and touching the microphones. Oh yeah, two days later HE was the guy whose diagnosed sickness shut down the entire NBA.

These mockers also don’t understand exponential growth combined with the fact people are contagious for 2 to 10 days BEFORE they show symptoms. These mockers who act socially irresponsible may be the ones who spread this throughout their city.

The time to put out a fire that’s burning your house down is when it’s VERY small.

I was in a chat with my two brothers and sister yesterday, and my oldest brother (died in the wool former teacher, union pusher, progressive democrat) says Trump’s response to coronavirus was weak. So I responded, “Weak??? How so???” I waited all day and no response. The problem with these liberals, progressives, and socialists is if you ask them to explain a statement, they can’t because they have no facts to back them up. They just regurgitate the talking points they hear on CNN and MSNBC. I waited all day so I could say, “It took you THAT long to get an explanation from Rachel MadCow???”

I used to email my local news stations about their bias and Trump bashing. They blocked all emails from the public, Owned by Gray Television.

They certainly don’t point out the connection between a potential situation like this every day and an unguarded border...

Call them. Tell them politely that you’ve watched for a long time, but you can read. News comes out that we can find ourselves, including weather, traffic (and sports). You are not one of the captive audience anymore. Music of soothing waves or water or birds will do nicely.

Do this often and to all stations. Leave a voice mail if necessary.

I did this and haven’t watched since.
