And for this, we shut down the world’s largest economy?

3,660 - Currently Infected Patients
3,650 - in Mild Condition
10 - Serious or Critica

Note the parabolic shape of “Active Cases in the United States” graph. The “Total Coronavirus Deaths in the United States”” graph is starting to follow in its footsteps. If unchecked by measures to stop the spread that include mandatory quarantines (that may include minimum security prisoner furloughs and the requisition of prisons to house quarantined individuals in an easy to monitor environment) and regulations re large gatherings, we may soon see hundreds of deaths per day. Just like Italy.

Two points. One - overreaction costs are mainly economic while underreaction costs are in lives lost. No one is going to starve to death from any economic contraction. The Green Revolution a century ago means that 1% of the population produces enough food to make the other 99% obese, with enough surplus to export to godforsaken places like China.

Two - this is an election year. The elderly tend to vote for Trump. Leaving aside the purely humanitarian aspects of mass death and illness, we don’t want the elderly shunted off to an early grave or ICU’s so that Democratic ballot harvesters can turn them into Biden voters. We need to put Trump back in office for another term. To do that, we must get this pandemic under control, and soon, to keep elderly voters healthy. And if that means losing a few points of GDP in the next few quarters, so be it. We’ll get them all back once Trump is in for a second term.

Another issue is this - you know how we get cranked up over the occasional GI death in Afghanistan, amounting to dozens per year? If we get to hundreds of deaths a day from the coronavirus, Trump is going to get hammered day in and day out. The beating Trump will take over that daily body count is not to be underestimated. And while it will be unfair, it will also be true that they occurred on his watch.

I’m not sure the “serious or critical” number for the US is accurate. The “Worldometers” site has said there were only 10 “serious or critical” cases in the US for at least 4 days, during which time about 30 people died. If there were only 10 in critical condition how could 30 people die? I have the same doubt about the very low “serious or critical” number in Germany.

We are in full blown panic mode. Common sense left town. The Democrats and media have found a way to get at President Trump. Expect it to get worse, much worse . To get President Trump, there is no level the media and Democrats will not stoop.

I've had two bouts of what my doctors thought was viral pneumonia since September but they weren't entirely certain. I was hospitalized for a few days each time but it was mostly viral and antibiotics didn't touch it.

I did breathing treatments 3-4 times daily at home with a nebulizer and Levalbuterol and Ipratropium Bromide inhalation solutions mixed together. Over time I recovered. I'd had my flu and pneumonia shots but they didn't faze this.

The symptoms were severe shortness of breath, coughing and low-grade fever. Speaking with my physician now, she thinks it's likely I had this coronavirus before it was identified and made the news.

She said her reading in the medical journals confirms that it is likely many people have already had this virus and the resulting flu and didn't know it. 80% of the cases are considered mild and with rare exception, the worst cases and those that die from it, are in their 80s and have other health issues that make it difficult for their bodies from fighting the virus.

The media and the democRATS are making this problem worse in order to try and get Trump out of office. But shutting down the best economy in the world is not a solution for the people. They will lose their jobs, businesses will close down, things will get worse than people just getting the flu. This is mass hysteria that will make for worse problems if the adults in leadership don't make the right decisions and not go overboard on this.

My gawd, Cuomo wants Trump to call out the military. What will that solve?
