Ear infections likely killed off the Neanderthals, according to scientists who claim to have cracked the mystery surrounding the species' extinction.
While antibiotics are taken for granted in the modern world, a lack of sophisticated medicine 40,000 years ago is believed to have seen the archaic species suffer from the common childhood illness and then perish.
Moreover, Neanderthals were more prone to contracting an ear infection as they had smaller ears, providing a tighter space for bacteria to become clogged up.
This is believed to have led to breathing and hearing problems and pneumonia.

They survived multiple ice ages and warm periods.

Earache my eye! How’d you like a butt ache!
These so called scientists have too much time on their hands.
“Ear infections likely killed off the Neanderthals...” This bit of science brought to you by the same schmoes pushing man-made global warming.
I thought they died of JUUL.

Ear infections brought on by Global Cooling
balderdash
They were wiped out by Homo Sapiens and their pre-frontal cortex. Compared to Neanderthals, Homo Sapiens are sociopaths; Always scheming; always exploiting; often stabbing each other in the back when they weren’t working together for advantage.
The difference would be stark if they were alive today to demonstrate side by side, but there’s nothing to compare it too. There’s a reason why modern humans love reality shows like Survivor where scheming, backstabbing, and alliances are the hook. Neanderthals would be saying “there go those a$$****s again”
This discovery gives me hope for a natural extinction event for tone-deaf, big mouth democRats.
Nope, nope, I think it was hangnails, really bad hangnails killed them off. ;-)
But seriously, what an unexpected, almost off-the-wall conclusion... Earaches! Not saying they’re wrong, but you’ve got to admit, it’s totally out of left field.
Untreated Tooth decay and gingivitis can also kill an individual. But I think its quite a stretch to think that bacterial infections caused a global extinction.
More garbage science, i wonder what government grant money they are going after or justifying...
Neanderthals have not died out, they are alive and mentally sick in the rat party.
Come on, everybody knows it was smoking that killed them off.
