Paleontologists have found entombed in amber a 99-million-year-old tick grasping the feather of a dinosaur, providing the first direct evidence that the tiny pests drank dinosaur blood.
Immortalized in the golden gemstone, the bloodsuckers last supper is remarkable because it is rare to find parasites with their hosts in the fossil record. The finding, which was published Tuesday, gives researchers tantalizing insight into the prehistoric diet of one of todays most prevalent pests.

I'd be more interested in the "proof" of dinosaur feathers.
Paging Michael Crichton . . .
Makes me hate ticks even more.
Most paleontologists / paleobiologists think dinos were birds and are very frequently called non-avian dinosaurs...

Right, wasn’t that in the original Jurassic Park Book and movie???
“think”
Ya, I was looking for scientific proof, rather than some unsubstantiated naming game to support their evolutionary agenda.
Yeah, I read that quick then thought ... wait dinosaur “feather”??
agreed, all part of the continual Big Lie for the worshippers at the altar of darwin.
nyt. No thanks.
I love me some Southern Fried Dinosaur (Chicken.)
Dinos didn’t die out.
somebody posted the Nat Geo link to the same story, 2 min. before me.
Well, for a start, if it wasn’t a dinosaur feather, then what kind of feather was it. 99 million years ago there were no birds.
ah yes, the reliability of dating methods does enter the conversation.
This give me an idea for a movie.
I call it “Billy and the Clone-A-Saurus”
How on earth could any organic material, whether it be ticks or amber, last 99 million years without being completely mineralized?
Is that the same Nat Geo that was pushing fake fossils a few years ago?
So fossils found in China that have feathers is not proof for you? I am just asking.
