Secret Service Agents also are not legally bound to stay silent once they leave government service.
There has always been an unspoken policy to not disclose information about U.S. presidents and the policy is generally upheld with some past minor breeches or two. Plus the Agency's retired-agents organization appears to uphold this "honor" concept also.
However, Secret Service Agents are required by law to speak out if they are witness to any illegal wrongdoing by those they are assigned to protect.

Hillary Clinton is now the presumptive nominee of the Dems. I doubt the book would have been written if that were not the case. The author is concerned about the Clinton's reoccupying the WH. As a patriot and someone who is concerned about the future of the Republic, should he hold his tongue or alert the American public to the dangers involved. Patriot or snitch? In the case of the Clintons, I tend to the former.
Remember Unlimited Access : An FBI Agent Inside the Clinton White House by Gary Aldrich?
I normally would, but in this case, when it might help avert another 4 years of craziness..... I give him a break. Besides, she despises the Secret Service.
And yet Obamas SS detail vetting practices may be the most riveting and penetrating yet untold of all stories that can’t be told.
Looking fwd to it!
That you Laz?
**** “Donald Trump is a game changer” ****
You know what I think? “DONALD J. TRUMP CHANGES EVERYTHING”
Everything is falling in line... PC MUST DIE!
"Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
- Winston Churchill
Just like the last 37 times.
I thought she called them “trained pigs” but in looking, it seems she might have said “trained personal pigs”.
Just watched the trailer for Dinesh D’Souza movie,
“Hillary’s America”
You really need to watch this movie trailer——really you should!
Thanks for clearing that question up. It sounds similar to the Armed Services. Troops do not have to follow obviously illegal commands and can/should report such commands.
Seeing the modern culture produce sloppy Secret Services boys serving any presidency, and as advance teams for them, as in Rio, boozing with prostitutes, makes writing tell-all books the least surprising. You know what I am saying?
If this author witnessed illegal activities, must he profit for reporting it, decades after the fact?
I was just thinking he may have reported it at the time, and maybe nothing was done about it. That would be news, but much of the Clinton’s behavior is broadly known. He will need to come up with some new material in his book, or embellish the old. Lol.
Anyway, I’m a hopeless romantic who wants to keep the SS on
the traditional pedestal of the old days.
Thx, MG!
Thanks for the info.
“As much as I hate the Clintons, Im bothered by a Secret Service agent violating the confidentiality of his job.”
A) is there confidentiality in that job? Why?
B) what if the person protected is violating laws? Or clearances rules - like being required to report behavior one could be blackmailed on?
As much as I hate the Clintons, Im bothered by a Secret Service agent violating the confidentiality of his job. If a president cannot trust his SS detail not to write tell-all books, he will try not to have them around, making himself more vulnerable.
Wow, the first chapter: The Vase. Does it get thrown at Bill?
Look at the first chapter, Lucy! “The Vase.” You know that puppy got thrown at Bill.
Yes!
Probably a highly valuable, irreplaceable, antique vase.
Ages ago, there was a thread about her throwing an ash tray at Bill. Perhaps it caused a bruise on his face...I’ve forgotten all the details.
Or maybe the injury was caused when she whacked him with a lamp.
