“Family’s decision according to CNN”

What are they afraid of? Why not have something definitive to rest this once and for all?

No not in tx the family does not decide. The coroner does. A death outside of a hospital unexpected must be reported to legal authority.

The law has the final say.

McConnell needs to be on the ball here:

1. BE VERY FIRM — NO HEARINGS WILL BE HELD, MUCH LESS A VOTE.
2. MUST KEEP THE SENATE IN SESSION 24/7 TO PREVENT THE MARXIST SCUM FROM TRYING A RECESS APPOINTMENT.

This is beyond critical.

"Will No One Rid Me of This Meddlesome Priest?"
Henry II

Obie didn't have to order it done. Any more than the Clintons had to "order" it to happen to some of their victims.

Not saying that's the case here, but damn, the timing couldn't be worse for truth, justice, and the American way.

With the Republicans in the Senate, this country is so SOL. No autopsy is REALLY a bad decision. Although, if you can believe he was helped along, why would you have any confidence in the autopsy? There can be no assurance that this is all on the up & up.

He was "pronounced him dead over the phone at 1:52 p.m. on Saturday."

What the heck?

He was diagnosed with a heart attack by a Judge without even seeing the body.

I am now of the opinion that all levels of government just like to stick it to all of us. Just looks shady, and maybe they like us to ll be afraid of them. Of course, in Texas they can shoot a bunch of people n broad daylight, and no one in DC cares.

Scalia “is said” to have died of a heart attack

Yet as details of his sudden death trickled in Sunday, it appeared that the hours afterward were anything but orderly. The man known for his elegant legal opinions and profound intellect was found dead in his room at a hunting resort by a ranch owner.

It then took hours for authorities in remote West Texas to find a justice of the peace, officials said Sunday. When they did, she pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes without seeing the body and decided not to order an autopsy.

A second justice of the peace, who was called but couldn’t get to Scalia’s body in time, said she would have ordered an autopsy.

The hands folded over his chest and no rumpled sheets is suspicious.

Alas, we will never know. It won’t rise to the level of JFK conspiracy but if this court flips the 5-4 for decades on end..people will wonder if he was murdered.

Dead is dead.

An overweight 79 year old man with a stressful job? What on earth could have killed him?

I am fine with this. If I were a family member I'd see no point in an autopsy on a near 80 year old who dies in his sleep. And to be honest I am a little over the bizarre fetish for conspiracy theories that seems so prevalent on FR.

Thank you for this. I completely agree. This is a family decision.

I also want to point out that his family may be aware of medical conditions related to the Justice that are not common knowledge. In the absence of indication of foul play, there is simply no need to circumvent their wishes.

My father died suddenly, at home alone. We knew, and he knew, that he had a heart condition. My sister and I were given a choice as to autopsy. We knew my father's thoughts on that, and we declined.

Could be due to natural causes. But we’ll never know now.
