So it’s official. Bruce Jenner is now a “woman.” He calls himself Caitlyn.
Cue the social media, social justice warriors delivering the grandiose, unnecessary compliments. “Oh she’s so brave!” “We’re so proud of you!” “Caitlyn, you’re a hero!”
Listen, I don’t begrudge Bruce Jenner for wanting to be happy. Everyone wants to be happy. The problem is that with the recent, hyper-aggressive push to normalize transgenderism, we’ll no longer be able to discuss whether some decisions made in the pursuit of happiness are healthful. Because… hate speech.
Many people, including many in the gay community, think that transgenderism is a mental condition more effectively treated with psychiatry than surgery. I get where leftists are coming from; this person isn’t hurting anybody (aside from themselves), so what difference does it make? On the surface, it seems like a reasonable position to hold. One that quickly falls apart when you begin to examine it more closely.
Apotemnophilia is a fetish in which people wish to become an amputee. They find sexual satisfaction and ultimately, happiness, through the act of the removal of limbs or simulating the removal of limbs. There are websites, message boards and get-togethers devoted exclusively to the activity. As a general rule, society doesn’t consider this to be healthful. Some of us may accept it, ignore it and move on with our lives, but we don’t praise it or trot apotemnopheliacs out as heroes. And let’s be honest… most of us think it’s pretty damn weird.
Now, change that limb to a penis. If you don’t accept it, even worse, if you don’t praise it, you’re deemed hateful. The politically correct lobbyists of the day will take great care in avoiding the staggeringly high suicide rate of transgenders, they will ignore the medical reality that sex change operations and hormone replacement therapies come with a litany of very serious health problems, heck, they’ll ignore overall science.
If you choose not to do so, you will be deemed hateful. This is the playbook. Know it, learn it, expect it. Bruce ‘Caitlyn’ Jenner, will be their poster child.
Something that was discussed on this week’s podcast, and something that I find to be an incredibly interesting point from Milo Yiannopoulous, is that the entire leftist theory on which transgender acceptance is based, forces leftists into a rough juxtaposition to begin with.

See, if it’s truly possible that a male body can be born with the wrong brain, or that a female body can be born with a male brain… it forces the left to concede that gender is not merely a product of societal construct, but biology. If, in order to avoid classifying transgenderism as a psychiatric disorder, we’re required to recognize the inherent biological, scientifically measurable differences between genders… that creates incredible contradictions for feminism, gay rights progress and ultimately, yes, transgenderism.

I think the problem many people have with this (I know I do) is: Do you think that Jenner would have gone so far without all the media attention he is getting. What part of brain dysfunction (which I don’t discount) includes a large dose of narcissism? The need for approval? The desperate need for attention at all costs? Because those are brain disorders as well.
Also, if Jenner had not had the money to pay for all of this plus already posses the celebrity necessary to promote it so heavily in the media, how far do you think he would have gone?
I have some personal experience of this in my own family. In my estimation a great part of it is about gaining attention and sympathy. Once the attention is removed, the person loses interest in persueing it to the level that Jenner has ... plus the lack of money. It costs fortune to do what Jenner has done. How do we deal with people who want the same as him (including the massive amount of attention)?
I guess in the end it comes down to: What does society owe to people with brain dysfunctions? How far do we go with that, given the fact that almost everyone has some type of personal problems (mental, physical, financial) that could be claimed to be society’s duty to alleviate?
And then there is always the option that he is a pervert and needs to be slapped upside the head.
If he wants to dress like a girl and act like a girl, that's his business. But the medical community should not perform elective genital mutilation.

BTW, the right makeup artists could make any of us look like that for a day. It means nothing. And if Bruce wants to maintain that look, it will take an army of personal assistants.
Personally it really shouldn't concern me if somebody wants to indulge in a fantasy about being the opposite sex. But this constant media attention this guy is getting is really annoying. Especially now that he is winning awards and other plaudits for being a "hero."
So you can now be a hero for pretending to be the opposite sex? To me, a hero is somebody who rescues somebody else out of a burning building. Not a man who dresses in women's clothing.
Also, I should mention that just a couple months ago, this man was involved in a car accident that resulted in the death of a woman. Apparently he was not determined to be at fault but the fact is that his car was the one that knocked this woman's car into oncoming traffic and he is now involved in a civil suit.
But we've heard almost nothing about that incident from the media as they continue to swoon and gush over his "transformation." Since the unfortunate fatal accident, it's been full speed ahead with this sex change nonsense.

Amazing how so many people assume the brain’s sexuality matches the sex organs 100% of the time and nothing can go “wrong”.
Generally, people here are accepting of other mental disabilities. I’ve seen very kind long threads about autism, Down Syndrome, and alcoholism and drug abuse. But when the brain dysfunction involves sexual orientation or identity, FReepers don’t seem to remember that same respect.

Not a fetish, rather either a psychiatric diagnosis or thought by many to be the result of neurological damage. Also has sexual overtones.
It would appear not all body parts are created equal, so I'd suggest the solution will be to normalize the procedure. How far down that path is amputation on demand, for sexually dysfunctional patients where the cause is the possession of two, rather than one leg. Sadly it's my understanding that the emerging research seems to show that sex change doesn't increase happiness in many (majority?) of cases, and that sexual preference often is for members of the former, now same, sex.

Because calling it "sexual orientation" is just sugar-coating a desire to commit buggery. Nothing you or anyone else can do will change the fact that anal copulation (or any other same-sex genital stimulation) is a violation of Nature and God. Sodomy deserves contempt, the attempt by sodomite activists to 'normalize' sodomy and sodomite relationships deserves vigorous opposition. You, madam, are walking perilously close to advocating for sodomy and for sodomites.
I don’t doubt that Jenner is not averse to publicity! And he has a ton of money. I have no idea what such a person would do if he were poorer and quieter.
However I see no evidence of narcissism. It seems like he was a conservative dad and far less narcissistic than his wife. His interview was full of self-critical, reluctantly accepting, talk. There is no way a person with narcissistic personality disorder could have talked about himself so honestly.
Society doesn’t owe people anything, really. I don’t subscribe to an ownership government that bestows medical care on people. We as a people should pay far less taxes and take far less services from the government. I love that charities help the needy. Not sure what you are trying to say — of course I do not think people should get free sex reassignment in jail, for example.

You make my case. People here just want to hurt those with brain dysfunction trying to heal in the only way offered these days, if the dysfunction involves sex or gender.
When someone has a serious mental illness, playing along with their illness is exactly the wrong thing to do.
