Generally, people here are accepting of other mental disabilities. I’ve seen very kind long threads about autism, Down Syndrome, and alcoholism and drug abuse. But when the brain dysfunction involves sexual orientation or identity, FReepers don’t seem to remember that same respect.

There is a big difference between accepting and celebrating mental disabilities and illnesses in others.

Jenner is mentally ill and no one is sicker than those who celebrate it.

I agree that there is no need to celebrate. It’s ridiculous. It’s people overcompensating for their own discomfort with it all. At least FReepers are honestly uncomfortable, though many are just mocking.
