Obama Third Greatest President??
09/01/14 | Tekva

I work about a mile from the Smithsonian museums and like every good Washingtonian, I never visit the famous sites. Today, being Labor Day, and having nothing else to do, I decided to go the Smithsonian Museum of American History. In one area they had a poll, taken by the museum visitors (how many thousands would that be?), voting for the greatest president in history. George Washington came in first, Abraham Lincoln second, Barak Obama third. I always thought "my jaw dropped" was just a fanciful expression, but my jaw DID drop. Reagan, by the way was 4th.

This is like awarding the game ball before the game is over

Considering the population of the surrounding area in DC. . . I’m surprised he’s not #1.

Don’t fret, most ‘uninforms’ can barely name three presidents to start with. In that sense, he finished last.

Not to worry. It was probably hundreds of Fed “workers” there voting each time they aimlessly walked by during work hours.

He got a Nobel prize before he did anything, right?

Only if there are three under consideration. IMHO, he has out-Cartered Dhimmi Carter.

THIS is how far apart the right & left are - the same distance apart as the truth and a lie.

I’d take comfort in that, but people from all over the country visit that museum, especially in the “tourist” summer months. Could this possibly be the mind set of most Americans? Other polls seem to say otherwise.

On the plus side, there was a wonderful young man across the street, sitting in a lounge chair, with a sign that read “Marriage is between one man and one woman.” I talked to him for quite a while and I was very struck by his courage. He is a young black man, very articulate, and he said that since no one he knows seems to be standing up for what is right, he’s taken on the responsibility of engaging people in conversation. He said that most people who stop, by the way, agree with him. Please keep him in your prayers, he is quite remarkable.

The Smithsonian propagandizing for the current WH occupant? Fundamental transformation indeed.

Third greatest? So I'd put him in the same league as:

Buchanan (that 7 states seceded under his administration, he did nothing to enforce Federal authority in the crisis, ala Washington, Jackson or Polk, he allowed federal armorys to be plundered and did nothing to prepare the nation for the coming conflict. His behavior is at the very least a gross dereliction of duty and a violation of his oath but to my mind he is more of traitor than Benedict Arnold. At least Arnold had the decency to leave the country he betrayed)

Harding (he chose his cabinet poorly, and that he refused to take the responsibility of the presidency upon himself)

0bama (golfing while the country burns, oh and, making fund raising speeches, tying up traffic and closing GA airports while doing it)

That’s the thing — it wasn’t the Smithsonian...it was the visitors to the Smithsonian who did the voting. I was sure for a second or two that I was reading it wrong.

LOL! When that happened I said the credibility of that award just dropped straight down to minus infinity. You know what amazed me was when it happened, it was just an absolute blatant, arrogant display of corruption and nobody said anything. It was like giving the Nobel prize in physics to a baby playing with blocks. That award has been since 1901 and they just let it be completely hijacked by psychopaths.

DC is a wonderful place. It is unaffected by things like economic downturns that afflict us in the heartland.

The men have 1000 dollar suits and the women 400 dollar dresses, shoes, and handbags.

As my Dad (RIP) used to say, “nothing’s too good for the taxpayers”

Not everyone...perhaps those in the business districts. Plenty of poor people in D.C.

“Considering the population of the surrounding area in DC. . . I’m surprised he’s not #1.”

Ha! What percentage of that “population” is interested in museums, or things remotely educational?
