>>1. Pit Bull: Sadly, this breed has taken on more criticism and warnings than most other breeds in recent years. Often labeled as vicious, untrustworthy, and in possession of locking jaws, the Pit Bull tops our list as receiving a bad rap. According to the American Temperament Test Society, Pit Bulls ranked second in reliability overall. In other words: This original “nanny breed” is not the problem, but the way he is trained may be the issue.<<

Chet99, this one’s for you!

I had a pit-lab and he was the best.

Poodles are the worst dogs.

It’s not the training, it’s the indiscriminate breeding.

Although fiercely loyal and protective, he is a loving dog who can be playful and loving

I knew a family that had a Rottweiler. Unfortunately, although the family treated her well as a house pet, she was never truly trained.

All I know is that when I visited, and I was alone with the dog, I had to buy passage with luncheon meat. I never observed her playful and loving side, and I know she was treated kindly.

the Pit Bull tops our list as receiving a bad rap.

Carol needs to go down to her nearest urban dog shelter where half of all dogs turned in are Pit Bulls and adopt one of those bad rappers.

I have twice now adopted what I call “miniature beagles” and one stereotype that is 100% correct, Beagles cannot be trusted off a leash! Well they can, but you better not take your eye off them because the nose knows, and when the nose picks up a scent they are off, and their ears go completely out of service! They make me laugh :)

2. Chihuahua: Any dog can snap or bite, so labeling this pint-sized pooch as an “ankle biter” is unfair and creates an inappropriate stereotype. This small breed is lively, alert, and publicized by Hollywood movies and on mainstream commercials. As a result, improper breeding and owners not familiar with the breed are part of the bad rap reasons unwittingly bestowed on the Chihuahua.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chihuahuas. Nervous, litle bad tempered dogs that shake and yap-yap-yap.
I’ve got no use for these things.
I’ll never own anything but a rescue dog. The world is overflowing with unhoused dogs and, as nice as pure breds are, all these lovable mutts need homes.
I was not aware that German Shepherds had any sort of bad rap. My family has had a couple of them, and they were very good dogs.
The main downside I see to GSD’s is that purebred examples don’t live very long.
I do know that pit bulls have a bad reputation, but one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met was a pit bull that belonged to one of our neighbors. Guess they brought him up right...
The important point is that, the damage when done by a Pitbull, is far and away worse than any other breed.
Skinny, nervous, ankle-biting b*tches like Andrea Mitchell earn their stereotypes.
Who ever wrote this crap did not review the factual numbers that document that clearly demonstrate that the majority of dog attack on humans that either cause death or cause great damage are by pit bulls. The center for disease control has these numbers and they are easily found.
Not all pit bulls kill people but the majority of people killed by dogs in this country are killed by pit bulls.
I've only known one pit bull in my days. That was the most friendly, timid, tail-wagging canine I ever knew...including several barkers in my home.
I've known one Rottweiler up-close and personal, and that was a vicious evil creature. However, I'm not yet feeble, and there isn't yet a 60 or 70 or 80 pound canine that can beat me in a fist fight...make that a fist and paw fight. I might get chewed a bit, but the dog will go into the fertilizer business.
That Rottweiler never chewed any part of me, but he did learn humility and big time hurt. After that he was still a vicious, worthless waste of air. When I was in the neighborhood he, shall we say, cowered.
In the “killer dog list” Dobes are mentioned with the disclaimer that 99% of the killings were in defense of their owner.
Good dogs.
My experience with Spaniels is that they have some or all of these negative qualities:
1. Dumb
2. Snappy
3. Neurotic
4. Downright goofy
