Dogs align themselves with Earth’s magnetic field when it comes time to poop

Dogs have been found to be sensitive to Earth's magnetic field, and apparently align themselves along the magnetic north-south axis before they defecate. Czech and German researchers studied 70 dogs during 1,893 defecations and 5,582 urinations over the course of two years, and found that when the Earth's magnetic field was stable the dogs chose to align themselves with it. When it was unstable, such as during a solar flare, the dogs would become confused.

We'll need to set up a liason office with FAA and the Navy, for temporary changes in local magnetic deviation (It's a strong electromagnet). And a voucher system for damaged traditional watches.

I'll need 2 union electricians, one to plug in the electromagnet, another to turn it on and off. My cousins just happen to be union electricians.

That's all I can think of right now. That's a total headcount of 4, not counting me, and $500,000 mechanical watch replacement voucher system.

Oh.. and a dog with handler.

I've got one. It dims neighborhood lights when you plug it in. I made a big deal with the electric company that 200A service better mean 200A service. They didn't know why I needed that in a one-bedroom shotgun shack. ;)

My dogs actually align North-South the vast majority of the time ... but I think it has to do with the sidewalk I use being in a N/S direction... they rarely poop perpendicular to the sidewalk.

One of our 4 dogs is a hound dog, a Black Mouth Cur. If she had stayed with her birth family she would have lived in a barn, eaten what she could catch and gathered cattle for her owner.

Instead she has 2 beds, one in the den and one in our bedroom. She weighs 80 pounds instead of about 40 pounds like her working family. Gets too much food.

She can’t stand to get her feet wet and she poops on the back porch when the grass is wet, it doesn’t even have to be raining. She is a sweet sweet girl and she loves me dearly, I feel the same about her.

Do I know how to spoil a dog? :)
