BTW if you wear glasses to correct astigmatism, just remove the lens that they do the surgery on and you will still be able to see to do most things, even drive. That is what we did with mine, until it was healed enough for a new RX. And NO they do not correct for astigmatism with cataract implants. I’m still in multi-focals for that.
And see the Optometrist on Thursday for a new set of lenses....that is the weird part for me I need stronger glasses each year on fixed implants. But then again I have Fibromyalgia and that is one of the reasons behind needing yearly new RX’s as the eye muscles are impacted by it.

If you’re ready for the surgery, you’re already through the toughest part. The tests and prep work were far worse. Howver, it is not unusual for the cataracts to return after a while, so this may not be your last visit.
Good luck and keep us posted.

By now you’re probably done, with a bandage over your right eye. I had both of mine done in my late 30s, with excellent results. When the bandage is removed, you’ll be amazed at how bright and clear everything is, and you’ll be back to normal in no time!

I've had both eyes done [by Dr. "Fred Flintstone" at the V.A.] and it's worth it. Hope you are going to a doctor that uses a laser and not a hammer and chisel; if so, the process is a breeze.
FYI: because your eye will not dilate or contract normally, make sure you get the ID card for the lens implant and carry it with you, just like a med bracelet. EMT's need that kind of info.

I just got back from having the eye cap removed. I read every line on the chart but the smallest and am seeing colors so vivid it's like a new experience. The cataracts creep up on you and you don't know what you're missing until they really get bad.
I am scheduled for surgery on my left eye in 3 weeks.
No pain at all, just some slight itching.
