I am sick and tired of this site being taken over by Catholics ( of which I am one ) stories or proverbs. This is a news site not a religion site. Go do that somewhere else. I am not opposed to your prostilazion(sp), just not here. We lose credibility if any religious group dictates or can be quoted from this site.

As a long term member of this site I regret posting this information, but the site has been buried in Catholic stuff recently and it should be shunted to some separate page.

You may have missed the I-House of Prayer in Kansas city bit about a worship leader several days ago asserting that The Lord showed her that Iran would be attacking Southern California within a “few” or “several” weeks. I forget which.

I have no info on the person’s track record on such impressions.

FWIW.

Can’t say I agree with you on this one, guy. I love FreeRepublic for the religious postings in part. I’m a Presbyterian who enjoys a Catholic or Mormon posting here and there.

Indeed! It’s atrocious. Now we are true biblethumpers!

Tune into The Lord constantly please . . . and obey Him immediately.

That is the true word, and if I heard the Lord say, "Stay home," we would. My family trusts me on that. I hear, hear hear, from Him constantly, and mostly it's daily life, "You know, just do your job," but when it's something big, I know it's from Him, and my husband trusts me on that.

I can believe that fully.

I think I’d trust you on that score, too.

You may have to give the smelling salts to some of your RC cohorts who read that line.

Beer can chicken, I do it all the time. Sometimes I do “faux beer can chicken” where the beer and chicken don’t get together until they both reside in my stomach. I usually use miller high life for this.

Your favourite spice rub on the chicken(even under the skin and body cavity), then stick exactly half a can of beer where the sun never shone on the poultry, making a tripod with the chicken’s legs forming the other two points of contact with the grill. The best part is making sure you have exactly half a can of beer. Sometimes you drink too much, and have to start over on another can.

Timing is crucial, I find the chicken usually takes four or five beers in the cook to assure the chicken has reached maximum succulence.

Th best bet is to click on the offending thread, then do Cntl-F4.

It is 100% guaranteed to remove the “Catholic Bilge.”

Given they way some of my Greek friends cook it, you have a point...

Indeed it seems like they use the lamb as a holder for the garlic while it roasts...

I hate lamb. Anything you got put to mint jelly on to make it taste better is not for me.

“Indeed it seems like they use the lamb as a holder for the garlic while it roasts...”

Otherwise it would burn, and there would be great lamentations. Exactly!

When people think prayer is punishment, that says something about them.

I think the "kneeling on the marbles" thing mentioned upthread may have soured the milk a tad...

I don’t get the mint jelly thing either..mint leaves, fine. But a viscous substance with a colour not found in nature smeared over meat? Someone’s chuckling all the way to the bank.

I love the religious posts, especially the Catholic ones.
And, if anything, they add credibility. FreeRepublic seeks to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. Religion is a big part of that, I say.

And tell Seaman Anoreth, "Welcome Home!!!" for me! I think anyone who is brave enough to serve our country should get a "dispensation" or something from the Feds. If she's old enough to enlist, she's old enough to have a drink!

My hubby and I always treat any uniformed soldier we see where we are dining. Be it McD's or Outback, they get a freebie on us with a stern warning to the cashier or waitperson NOT to tell them it was us. God bless and protect our brave servicemen and women!
