We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail!
Sarah and I went to Home Depot. Oh my. I got so excited when I saw Geranium, Verbena, and other annuals. I even told a woman who was buying flowers that I was so happy to see them. She smiled and agreede. ;-)
That's nice lysie! I would love to get to the garden store to buy some perenniels...maybe Mon. or Sunday! Hmmmm....not much chance before than....
I love garden stores. I'm always a sucker for some "must have" plant.
Does anyone have an idea for getting rid of chipmunks? Aside from shooting the little rodents.
Yuppers.
What country are you now in?
Do you ALWAYS have to stop my suggestion before it starts? ;>)
I'm sure my girls could do some damage to the little rodents for you. Cay has my left arm in shreds...

Hi all: Do you remember reading this excerpt from my email to you all last evening?
"This morning, early...she appeared to be in a very deep sleep and Dr. Rinehart thought she might not waken again. I hadn't seen her yet and he said she didn't look good, but....Lily being Lily....he was going to continue treating her with antibiotics (IM) just in case she decided wake up."
Well, that is pretty much what has happened. I called the Care Center this morning at 0500 and they told me they had turned her every two hours and that she had slept well, but seemed to be in some pain. I got up there at 0630 and she gave me her radiant smile but said she didn't want any thing to eat or drink. So....I offered her bourbon and coke (she had no clue what hour of the day it was!) and she had about 20 cc of it, then had about 20 cc of coffee and denied pain. I left her to go back to sleep.
Later in the morning, Anita called to say Mother had said thank you for all you have done for me, etc and she felt Mother might be saying goodbye to her. Anita was on the verge of tears. I flew back over there and when I walked in the door, Miss Lily said; "GET ME OUT OF THIS BED!" She wasn't saying goodbye to Anita, she was just thanking her for being so nice to her while she was stuck in the bed.
We were worried about getting her up because she is so weak but she was very positive about getting out of that bed. She wasn't happy about wearing a sweater over her nighty - she wanted to be dressed and she wanted her wig on. She went to the dining room for lunch and although she didn't eat solid food, she had two glasses of milk and two cups of coffee.
I turned her around to look at the flower garden and she insisted on going out to look at them up close and personal. Then, she had me checking all the plants on the dining room tables to make sure they were watered.
Later this afternoon she had a cookie and when I left a little bit ago, she was eating chocolate. We have tried to get her back to bed several times but she is very firm about staying up in her chair. When I left, she was reading one of her spicy novels.
We told her she had been gravely ill with pneumonia and she said, "Not me!" There is no doubt in my mind that she will go home to the Lord soon, but just not today :-) A few months ago she looked at herself in the mirror when she weighed about 80 pounds and declared she looked like a child from Bangladesh - she would be horrified if she looked at herself at 68 pounds.
Please keep us in your prayers...we are on a roller coaster ride. Diana (my friend at the clinic) said Miss Lily is showing us all how to go home to the Lord :-) and daughter Shelly reminded me that her Grandmother was a classy lady who never quite fit the "grandmother" role. I think my little Mother is going to make this last journey as memorable as her life has been and the rest of us are just along for the ride.
Love and hugs, Bev

Good thing I take them. I quit watching Fox News in the evenings anad my BP dropped 20 points. I am not making this up. I still have to be on the meds, but at least they are now working! LOL!
I am keeping Miss Lily and you in my prayers.
one big OOPS!! I forgot to tell you all that Dr. Rinehart felt that, since she liked a cocktail now and then, alcohol might stimulate her appetite. I did have an order for this mornings little drinky...I didn't smuggle booze to my little 95+ year old Mom :-)
I'll be banned.
And I haven't had a TV in the house, here.

You should.... ;>)
I hope my girls are reading this thread....
