TRIBUTE
The Flag flies high over the Base.
Where I work each day and face.
West at 5pm when "Retreat" does play.
Followed by the Anthem as "Loud Voice"
Speakers clear their throat.
Both near and far away.
Wrenches stop turning.
Flight crews turn from their forms.
All face the music.
In weather fair and foul.
For five minutes production does cease.
Visitors might think this behavior
Far from their norm.
Efficiency Experts may have a conniption.
So, please pardon our diction.
When our rigid silence says that this reprise
Is Our Time to honor the past.
And when Freedom is threatened
There's no better Savior.
