I decided to change my ways. After a lot of soul searching, I've realized that the GOP does not have my best interests in mind. I can no longer support an administration and a party that cannot look beyond the immediate future and see the long-term consequences of their actions. I've thought about where this administration's policies will leave me and my future family in 30, 40, 50 years....and I do not like the picture. I never thought I would say this, but I'm turning blue. While some of you may call me a jackass, I am now proud to call myself a Democrat.
Welcome to the "RIGHT" side!! :)
We're glad to have you!!
I did a Google News Search and I think I found it??http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2986810

AUSTIN - It looks like state Sen. Mario Gallegos will keep his seat when the Legislature convenes today.

The Senate State Affairs Committee on Monday dismissed an election challenge filed against the Houston Democrat by a former opponent who also is his ex-mistress.
The committee disposed of the challenge in less than 15 minutes, finding that Susan Delgado "failed to state the grounds necessary to maintain an election contest."
The committee voted 9-0 to send the report to the full Senate for a vote.
Delgado contended that Gallegos lives in the 11th District, even though he represents the 6th. She cited Gallegos taking a homestead tax exemption on a house outside of his district.
Gallegos is registered to vote at his mother's house within the 6th District and he claims to live there as well.
Gallegos, who has represented the east Harris County district since 1995, was overwhelmingly re-elected in November. Delgado ran against him as a write-in candidate.
$1.5 million lawsuit
Delgado also has sued Gallegos for $1.5 million, alleging abuse during their 17-year affair. Gallegos has called the suit frivolous.
Neither Gallegos nor Delgado attended Monday's hearing.
Sen. Jeff Wentworth, R-San Antonio, who was appointed as a special master in the case by Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, recommended in December that the challenge be dismissed.
"I don't believe the allegations go to the extent of being frivolous," Wentworth told the committee Monday. "But I don't believe they have a legitimate basis."
He later said the committee made the right decision, saying to prevail in an election contest, the contestant must cite fraud or voting irregularity, not issues of residency.
State Affairs Chairman Robert Duncan, R-Lubbock, said the committee ruled according to the law. "There is not any gray area here," he said. "In an election contest, the Legislature doesn't have jurisdiction to hear a determination of (residency) eligibility."
He and Wentworth predicted the full Senate will vote to seat Gallegos.
Somewhat of a broad brush statement....examples please.....!!!!
Who cares!
Correct....
Today's my birthday - should I post a VANITY!?
"Today's my birthday - should I post a VANITY!?'
Absolutely, also you should tell us what you had for dinner last nite and where you're going for dinner tonite and if you should change your mind we NEED to know!
Last night, I had salad with this wonderful raspberry vinegrette and a bowl of chili + a glass of Ravenwood Zinfandel. Yum.

LOL!
I know things seem tough. I'm in a similar scenario. Though compared to Lot, we've all got it easy.
I think it's important to remain active in your job search. God helps those who help themselves. It'll come.
Thanks so much for your continued posting. It helps alot of people.
Stay active. Stay strong.
I hadn't posted a thread on it, just sent the ping by freepmail.

I will keep you in my prayers also.

Now you owe me an apology!! Why do they always insult my proud namesake by comparing themselves to a bray??? If his account was still active, I would demand it or a duel!!!

Ok, I'll drink your champagne.
What happened to PD?
Holy cow, I didn't know he had been banned. But sure enough, click his name and you get the blue "account no longer exists" page. I have no idea why that might have happened. Very strange.
He was a military guy (the Pukin Dogs was the name of a famous fighter squadron; I think he flew an F-14 or something) and a freeper in good standing as far as I knew. Maybe he didn't like having semi-celebrity status here (thanks to his manifesto, which was a big hit, as evidenced by the long congratulatory thread) and changed to a lower profile screen name. But that's just a shot in the dark.
All Hail Mr. Duck!
