How cute.
You expect me to know how to read, right? LOL!
I was educated in government schools.
You must put red colored asteriks so I can see them. LOL!
Glad you're groovy. I'm still on cloud nine!! I don't want to come down. Although, I'm kind of sleepy as well.

I wrote it weeks before Halloween. I was also VERY tired. As
I've mentioned a million times, my writing gets stranger & creepier.
I STILL don't remember what I had been watching. I think my
brother also had some odd music playing... oh well, onward...
I went a little Shakespeare with this one.
I wanted to write an old style love poem...
Well, as best I could anyway.
I Love Thee
I love thee,
I love but thee,
my love will never die
& even if thou don't understand,
thou needn't wonder why.
I love thee,
I love but thee,
that is all thou need to know.
I love thee & if thou lovest me,
I beg thee not to go.

By your request...
Tulip Trees
The perfect tree for a distant time, ere Man was in the wood,
It harbored birds and bunnies, squirrels and mice, and all was very good.
And man arrived, with ax and saw, and made the world his own,
The tulip tree, despite its grace, into this brawl was thrown.
"How useful is this tree," he said, and cut into the wood,
"Well make our homes and furniture, and life will be so good."
The tree, of course, did not care which, would eat it or enjoy,
It sought to spread its wings by any means it could employ.
It did not judge the animals, or men who sought its shade,
But sought to dwell in harmony to all within the glade.
This is a lesson we can learn who seek our place on Earth.
Be useful, but progress your way, and show the world your worth.

Thanks! Excellent audio, though I have to admit the voice sounded more like George C. Scott than George Patton. Do we know that these were the actual words that Patton spoke?
Meanwhile, we extend our best wishes and support to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and especially in the Ba'athist Triangle. Despite the election campaign rhetoric, our servicemen and women should be assured that all patriotic Americans stand behind them. Their battle is our battle.

Whitetail? Where's the tail? LOL!
Speaking of tales, I can recommend some recent films:
* Voices of Iraq -- a fair and balanced composite view of Iraq from April-September 2004. Inspiring statements, juxtaposed against gloom and doom headlines back in the states. Unsteady minicam can be distracting, but a definite Must See.
* Ray -- about Ray Charles, portraying the good eventually winning over the bad and ugly. Great music.
* Callas Forever -- for the opera buffs who know something about this difficult diva.
* The Machinist -- compelling psychodrama. Not for the sqeamish.
Soon I'll be off to see:
* In the Face of Evil: Reagan's War in Word and Deed -- I hope to be able to recommend this film which is billed as the first true conservative full-length documentary

The War Is Over!
Read: Hebrews 4
[Jesus] came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. Ephesians 2:17
Bible In One Year: Jeremiah 40-42; Hebrews 4
The bitter conflict had finally ended between the North and the South. The soldiers of the US Civil War were free to return to their families. But a number of them remained hidden in the woods, living on berries. They either didn't hear or didn't believe that the war was over, so they continued enduring miserable conditions when they could have been back home.
It's something like that in the spiritual realm too. Christ made peace between God and man by dying in our place. He paid sin's penalty on the cross. Anyone who accepts His sacrifice will be forgiven by a holy God.
Sadly, many people refuse to believe the gospel and continue to live as spiritual fugitives. Sometimes even those who have placed their trust in Christ live on almost the same level. Either out of ignorance or unwillingness, they fail to claim the promises of God's Word. They do not experience the joy and assurance that should accompany salvation. They do not draw from their relationship with God the comfort and peace He intends for His children. They are the objects of His love, care, and provision but live as if they were orphans.
Have you been living apart from the comfort, love, and care of your heavenly Father? Come on home. The war is over! Richard De Haan
We fail, O Lord, to realize
The fullness of what You have done,
So help us trust Your saving work
And claim the triumph You have won. D. De Haan
Christ's victory over death means peace for His saints.

Do we know that these were the actual words that Patton spoke? HERE is a website that has TWO versions of that speech. One "watered down" at the top, and one "unsensored" version just below that.
One post there states:
The first quote is from the movie the second quote is his actual speech.
George Patton Speech
I want you to remember that no bas*ard ever won the war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor, dumb bas*ard die for his country. Men, all this stuff youve heard about America not wanting to fight wanting to stay out of the war - is a lot of horse dung! Americans traditionally love to fight! All REAL Americans love the sting of battle
..
And HERE is the full statement.
