The Hobbit Hole XVII - A new road or a secret gate...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

A new road or a secret gate...

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yeah...it's really a smart system. You put a quarter in the cart and it unlocks it from the other carts. Then when you are finished shopping, you take the cart back and re-lock it and it gives you the quarter back. It keeps them from having to hire people to be constantly bringing the carts back. And the carts stay nice...not beat up from being bashed around in a parking lot.

You bring your own bags too. And they don't take checks or credit cards...they take "some" debit carts but not mine, unfortunately. They sell only their own brands, too. Most are comparable or even better than name-brand. I think the coffee is, anyway.

All of these "weird" things are what keeps the prices down. You can really get good prices on things.

The most people I've ever seen working at the place is two. One person stocking and one person checking. It's like a small grocery store...not a big place.

It's not quite as smooth tasting.

That's why I liked this one, it was not bitter at all!

See, we're the obvious horror story of what happens when a kid is deprived of television...

On now to listen to the PJ commentary next.... So many special features, so little time!

My copy arrived today. With working midnights, overtime, family obligations, troop stuff, and (hopefully) sleep, I can really only freep at work, on slow nights.

I have to find about four hours of uninterrupted time to watch the movie without falling asleep. I tried watching FOTR on TBS last weekend, just for "old time's sake". I realized later I had a big blank spot from the council of Elrond to Boromir's funeral boat.

Sadie's litter mates all had the typical catahoula leopard stripes. She was the only one with the rottie markings. You're right though, she really doesn't look like a rottie. She has much longer fur than her siblings do as well. The vet at the shelter said that she will probably only get to about 50 lbs max. Really small for a rottie imo.

Sadie's nose also doesn't look very rottie-like. She looks like she is a very sweet-natured dog and she will be a great addition to your family!

At some point this semester, I seem to have lost the art of "sitting still and watching the movie". I need to be coding, or tidying, or something as I sit. It's annoying.

And I'd forgotten how dumb some bits are.

I buy my curls.

Me too! God takes care of the natural 'frosting', and I pay for the curls! If I didn't have them, my hair would just hang limp and gray all over my head.
Vey unattractive! ;o)

Happy ROTK-EE day indeed!

Well I didn't quite make it through TTTEE last night so I'm finishing up the battle at Helms Deep before I put on ROTKEE tonight. And I broke down and bought a new DVD player to replace that POS. Uh oh....9,999 orcs to go!

I've always wanted curls. But every single time I ask, the stylist has conniptions and insists it'll kill my hair. Sigh. Maybe someday, when my hair's limp and falling out anyway.

We're just settling in to watch ROTK-EE. Wont' be able to finish it tonight (cuz it's soooo long now) but we're thrilled nonetheless.

Smeagol and Deagol in a little boat.
Won't be long before Smeag's strangles Deagol's throat....

She'll go broke as a stylist with that attitude... their best money is in people ruining their hair ;~D

But it's happened with about six different chicks, so it must be true. The stylists like to say they'd like to have my hair. Well, yeah, but maybe they'd know what to do with it.

Although my current favorite style - bun secured with hair sticks - is pretty decent.

But she wasn't on the Sci-Fi channel in Christmas day marathons, now was she?

She was in an episode of Twilight Zone so she might have been on the Sci-Fi channel.
