Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I always wanted to plug wires in wrong and watch the pretty sparks and fire. This is especially fun on switched LAN's that do Power over Ethernet for VOIP phones. Nothing quite like sending a little 110 voltage into a LAN card to light up somebody's world. :-)

Nope, because I needed to give her a slightly unusual trait in a magical world. Everything else I could think of is too overdone.
That was, oh, four years ago. Guess I'm stuck with it, it's part of her personality now.

...slightly unusual trait in a magical world...See, I would have given a magical trait in a slightly unsusual world.
But that's been overdone harry potter.
Your way is better.

It's 1245 today, and I'm getting ready to go to a meeting. I get a phone call. Msdrby says, "we have a puppy"!
This is miss Sadie. She is plum tuckered out from the events of the day.

You are most welcome.
I also have the address for the young Marine that is injured, if anyone wants it I will freepmail it to you.
The family says if you include more than one, they will give them to some other injured soldiers on the ward.

Hehehe.... funny you should mention harry potter... I think an entire generation of hopeful writers has been influenced one way or another... gave me some very definite ideas about blending magic and technology, at least.

PE - that is one cute looking puppy. It bears a striking resemblence to Gypsygirl. However your puppy story is lacking many crucial details. Who, What, When, Where, however the Why is self-explanatory just looking at her. LSA says "give up the details".

What an adorable little monster!

Well, I thought we were back in Texas for good - you never know anymore do you? The company that transferred my husband announced a month after we arrived that they were selling his division of the company ------not to worry though, between the two companies most everyone would have a job............ sure.......... most everyone except senior management. lol
Want to adopt us?
To: HairOfTheDog
Woo Hoo! Welcome baby Megan!! Hope Sonya is getting some rest! That didn't drag on as long as it could have, though I'm sure Sonya doesn't feel that way right now.

Want to adopt us?Bless your heart, you don't want to come to MA do you? Our #2 son is in Texas attending Grad school at UT Austin. He'll be here this week for his Christmas vacation, but I'd like to go down there to visit him sometime next year.
Hope your hubby finds gainful employment in TX, SOON!

Morning!
"Holiday" Party day here at work. I volunteered to bring fudge before the fudge rejection scandal (which is spreading through the family and they're all aghast). So I brought in two pans: plain chocolate and chocolate-cranberry-orange-pecan. If they don't like it, they can stick it in their ear.
On the other hand, I may have gotten a little carried away with festive holiday cheer. The bathroom scale is creeping up at an alarming rate!

I'll second what OB and LSA said - we need details!
She's a cutie, though...that much is obvious! What's Chelsea think of her?

Good morning!
Happy ROTK-EE day indeed! Wish it wasn't music night tonight. :-( And that I had cash. Like I said, though, I'll at LEAST be renting it ASAP! Tomorrow, probably.
My gosh, this month is going fast...
Unnggh...coffee...
