Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
A new road or a secret gate...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

So far I am good for any weekend in June except the last one would be kinda close to the 4th. Not sure yet what I am doing on the 4th but there are several options on the table for that one. It probably will be a family reunion in NC. Is it called a reunion when I have not met most of that side of the family? hmmmm

We might be drivin' further.... haven't decided fershur yet.

*I* didn't break it...It was already broken....little pieces from the tiny little buildings on Minas Tirith starting falling off. Maybe it's just very realistic.... you just need to buy the accompanying trebuchet to hurl those pieces of buildings at it.

I need to get some dates soon, too... and start figgering what's cheapest... a 12 hour drive is possible, but not fun. But if plane tickets are more'n $150, driving's the way to do it.
I'm hoping it's not the first week in June, my little sister is coming out to see me at the end of May...

Well, that'd be just fine, if we are driving anything other than my little truck. If it happens that we drive something else, we'd be happy to take you...
The wrinkle is that the reason we may drive is that we will stay some extra days and go to Oklahoma to trail ride with Becky from the saddle club thread. Wouldn't be all bad for you, as we can also visit with 2J then.

Hmm... as long as I can get enough time off of work... Well, it's too soon to make any real plans. Let's play it by ear.

I like Twinings a lot...love their breakfast tea. I don't have any, however... this morning I have been having Twinings Earl Grey...hot.

Matthew just out of the blue said "I'm glad I'm here in the center of the United States with the thick web of the Army National Guard around me."
I asked "Makes you feel safe, doesn't it?"
"Yep." he replied.
Something must be on his mind...

I have seen those Chatahoula Cattle Dogs and they are really neat dogs. Sadie doesn't look like a Rottie to me, how big are her paws? Since she is so young, her coloring may change some.
This is Gypsy's first winter with us and she is starting to get her winter coat, lots of very fine, fuzzy fur on her fore and hind legs. Makes her legs look like they are covered with frost, very weird. She is supposed to be a rough-coat collie mix, do you have any idea what the other part could be?
