GREETINGS,
FOLLOWING is a note re todays Alaskan quake. First a comment about this thread.
SOME FREEPERS are fascinated with fringe areas of reality. Some of us even think the fringe areas of knowledge, research, anecdotal stories and the like will have very impactful effects on the WAR ON TERROR, WWIII, Biblical end time events etc.
WE ALSO FIND FREEPERS FULL OF GREAT CREATIVITY OF THOUGHT, INSIGHT, WORK RELATED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS ETC. useful in collecting diverse puzzle pieces and in analyzing them. This diversity is priceless and virtually unavailable on any other site.
While we are seriously interested in topics which others scoff at, throw tinfoil hat assaults at and which we often even can't discuss calmly with many of our relatives and friends--we are either not all loonies or not 100% looney--though perhaps, hopefully, healthily insane in an insane society a la Eric Fromm.
Nevertheless, we do NOT enjoy nor appreciate hostile flame wars and the like just because we enjoy fringe puzzle pieces and analysis. Nor do we wish to cast the least bit of aspersions on FR.
I do not know how many of us will be willing to show up and post on this thread. Many are gunshy from all the flame attacks such topics typically trigger hereon. However, if my FREEPMAIL is any hint, there are plenty to be interested in such a thread.
HOWEVER, to whatever degree I may be graced with the ability to do so--this thread will NOT tolerate flame wars, flame posts, hostile jabs at other posters etc. I will do my utmost to get such posts pulled immediately.
The THREAT MATRIX thread has done mostly pretty well at creating and maintaining a lot of resourcefulness, creativity, camaraderie, mutual supportiveness and friendliness.
I hope and expect that this thread can even do better. Certainly I will do what I can to help make that happen.
If this thread flies and helps in any way analyze the WOT threats as well as natural disaster threats or any other plausible threats from 'reality' (whatever that is), then WONDERFUL. If it's just a good place to toss around the various puzzle pieces and their implications in a convoluted era and reality--that's worth some time, too.
If this thread dies and early death from disinterest, so be it.
If you have comments about the above, please post them! Hostile dereogatory posts will AT LEAST BE WHOLESALE IGNORED.
Below is some of the data on the recent quake and my comment on that.

I recall reading somewhere in the last month, a prediction that a very major devastating quake on the West Coast or the Pacific would occur shortly after a moderate quake in Alaska or just south of Alaska.
We shall see.
Personally, I'd vote for keeping Jihadi's out of quake shelters.

No biggy.
Just wanted U 2 know that your goal was likely not achieved and you might want to try other means if you had someone(s) in mind!
Have a blessed weekend.
Thanks for your kind reply.
Wanting to keep the flame war off the thread didn't have anything to do with basic agreement or not!
No Problemo. By the way what does IMHO mean? Amazing how I can figure out the most complex things and see so much and the little stuff rolls right over my head, cracks my friends and family up sometimes!! Oh the curse of being a blonde!! One minute a genius and the next a blubbering idiot, I guess it depends on your belief system as to which one I get tagged with...lol.
Natural Disasters More Frequent Than Before, says UN Official

Jan Egeland
A U.N. official says natural disasters, such as the recent deadly earthquakes in Iran and Algeria, are occuring with greater frequency than in past. The U.N. humanitarian chief, Jan Egeland, says natural disasters affect up to 10 times more people per year than war and global conflict.
Mr. Egeland says the world has seen an increasing number of severe natural disasters in recent years. Climate change and population shifts, according to the report, are to blame for the more frequent occurence of natural disasters.
Mr. Egeland says at least two kinds of these disasters, floods and earthquakes, tend to strike fast and can be more deadly than the bloodiest wars. To emphasize his point, Mr. Egeland gave the death tolls for the recent earthquakes in Algeria and the Bam region of Iran.
"The Bam [Iran] earthquake and the Algerian earthquake killed 30,000 people in seconds," said Jan Egeland. "That is more than most wars cost in a decade."
According to Mr. Egeland's research, 700 natural disasters last year killed some 70,000 people. He says the disasters affected 600 million people and cost $65 billion in material damage.
Mr. Egeland says natural disasters have an especially devastating impact on the poorest regions of the world because more low-income people tend to live in disaster-prone areas. Too often, he says, the international community ignores the problem until it is too late.
"What we hope is that the world will invest more in disaster prevention," he said. "Donors are waking up to this, but it is much easier to get, unfortunately, assistance the day after an earthquake, than to fund some preventive work to prevent a disaster from happening."
A new U.N. report, called Living With Risk, details some preventive measures that communities can take, such as constructing safer buildings and creating early warning systems.
A world conference on disaster reduction is scheduled for early next year in Japan.
Why do these things pop up like this?
I don't think anyone knows how to predict them or what causes the sudden activity.
I think there are effects on the weather and a good portion of global warming is due to increased sunspot activity ovr the last hundred years as the warming has been confirmed on mars recently. no suv's there to my knowledge.
this spate of activity is not terribly unusual other than it seems to be occurring rather suddenly. i;ve seen occassions in the past where the same type of activity has occurred.
I usually get very happy when I see it because it means auroras, I don't think it's cause for alarm.
sit back and enjoy!!
:)
Had problems with the simple/complex thing the same way all my life.
imho = in my humble opinion.
imnsho = in my not so humble opinion
or
imnho = in my no humble opinion.
I often have to ask or look em up on the computer!
Still some I don't know.
Blessings,

High winds, hail slam Midwest
Wind gusts up to 80 mph
Wednesday, July 14, 2004 Posted: 4:15 PM EDT (2015 GMT)
(AP) -- Thousands of homes and businesses had no electricity Wednesday in the path of a long line of thunderstorms that stretched from Tennessee to the Great Lakes.
Wind gusted to 80 mph in Kentucky and Tennessee on Tuesday, and hail stones as big as softballs were reported in parts of Illinois, the National Weather Service said.
As the storms passed through central Illinois, a tornado leveled a manufacturing plant Tuesday at Roanoke and roofs were blown off several houses, officials said.
Workers at Parsons Manufacturing plant in Roanoke, about 20 miles east of Peoria, went to storm shelters before the twister struck.
"The sound was so intense you had to hold your ears shut," office worker Dave McClallen said.
Utilities around Kentucky reported about 254,000 homes and businesses lost power during the storms, including 115,000 in the Louisville metropolitan area, the most there since a 1974 tornado.
Traffic lights remained out Wednesday in much of Louisville. Chip Keeling, a spokesman for Louisville Gas & Electric, said power had been restored to about 40,000 customers by Wednesday morning but some might remain in the dark for an extended period.
About 60,000 customers were blacked out in central Tennessee, but service had been restored to about half of them by dawn Wednesday, Nashville Electric Service reported.
Some 51,000 customers were still without power Wednesday morning in Indiana, down from a high of up to 136,000 during the storms, said Cinergy-PSI spokeswoman Angeline Protogere. Some might have to wait until Thursday for the lights to go on again, she said.
One man was killed in Indiana when a tractor tipped over on him while he cleaned up storm debris, officials said.
Utilities said at least 10,000 customers lost power in Michigan.
Funnel clouds were spotted in Wisconsin near Manitowoc and Clarks Mills. One touched down near Clarks Mills, damaging farm homes and other rural buildings, said Manitowoc County Sheriff's Sgt. Andrew Colborn.

Heavy Rain Causes Flooding Along East Coast; More Than 500 Evacuated in New Jersey
By Jeff Linkous Associated Press Writer
Published: Jul 13, 2004
MEDFORD, N.J. (AP) - More than a foot of rain burst dams, flooded roads and sent torrents of water into houses and businesses in the Northeast, forcing hundreds of people to evacuate their homes in the early morning hours Tuesday.
More than 750 people in New Jersey left their homes and cars at the height of the flooding early Tuesday, as a dozen dams and at least three bridges were washed under. Lawmakers urged President Bush to declare parts of south-central New Jersey a disaster area, and Gov. James E. McGreevey declared a state of emergency in two counties.
No injuries were reported in the stricken areas, which extended into Pennsylvania and northeastern Maryland. ........
Some people contend (tinfoil alert warning)
that some Tesla technologies are being used by puppet masters and/or Russia, China and possibly USA
to trigger massive weather changes,
earthquakes
volcanoes.
God will reveal the truth in due course.
Prayer is the only way to impact such things--regardless of their cause, that I know of.
RE the vessels
SOME THINGS ARE HOLY, SET APART TO A HOLY GOD.
Some things are not. Do not commonize, profane that which is holy.
B. knew enough of the history of N to have behaved more wisely. He foolishly did not.
It was a bit like Billdo and Shrillery. They know the Bible. They knew the standards of behavior called for in the Oval Office.
They said, essentially, 'up yours' to Almighty God and the people of this Republic.
In due course, the handwriting on the wall will come for them. Alas, enough people agree with them, it appears to be coming for the Republic as a whole.
Blessings to you and your family. Great to have discussions about the issues of life! PRAISE GOD!
South Asian Floods Leave 5 Million People Homeless (Update2)
July 16 (Bloomberg) -- Flooding and landslides caused by monsoon rainfall in South Asia have left 5 million people homeless, killed 150 and damaged crops, Red Cross and Indian government officials said.
Bangladesh, Nepal and northeast India are the worst affected as heavy rains swelled rivers and forced residents living along their banks to flee homes.
``All the major rivers in the Indian states are flowing above danger levels, especially the mighty Brahmaputra in Assam and Bhagmati in Bihar,'' said the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Agricultural crops in an area of 1.3 million hectares have been affected by floods in the Indian states of Bihar and Assam, Shivraj Patil, India's home minister, said in parliament in New Delhi. Forty nine people were killed in the two states by the floods, he said.
India's June-to-September southwest monsoon, which accounts for four-fifths of the country's annual rainfall, arrived two weeks before the normal start date of June 1 in some parts of the country, according to the India Meteorological Department.
Dry Spell
The floods in some parts of India are taking place as dry spells affect other areas, including Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. The break in the monsoon in these states has raised concern that farm output may fall. Only a third of India's arable land is irrigated, with the rest depending on the monsoon rains.
Still, the rains in India's northeast are likely to continue and the floods worsen, according to the country's weather office.
``The northeast region will continue to receive rain in the next few days,'' N. Jayanthi, deputy director at the India Meteorological Department's office in the western city of Pune, said in a phone interview. The ability of the soil in the region to absorb water has declined, she said.
Bangladesh may also continue to be affected by floods, the Red Cross said. ``The situation is serious in Bangladesh and worse could still come,'' it said.
Bangladesh has 136 million people living in an area about the size of the U.S. state of Florida, much of it on the Ganges delta and prone to flooding.
Have you seen this?????? alot scary!!!!!!
The sky ïûòàåò Egypt a fiery rain
Îêñàíà ÃÎËÎËÎÁÎÂÀ, on July, 16, 17:02
The Arabian mass-media transfer, that the present(true) fiery downpour has fallen upon a number(line) of villages in southern Egyptian province Ñîõàã - so has characterized the unusual phenomenon local population. However, behind the beautiful name serious accident which already has ruined some inhabitants of the country disappears.
Heated "drops" in huge quantity(amount) fall from the sky on roofs of buildings, setting fire to straw covering them and a reed. Constructions flash as a match, the flame has captured already more than 80 apartment houses. From an asthma and burns have suffered about 60 person, two small children were lost at least. In the Egyptian settlements where the fiery rain goes the third day, firemen constantly are on duty.
Police and forces of safety of the country conduct consequence(investigation). Authorities try to find out an origin so strange unknown hitherto a phenomenon. There are already some versions of an event. ïîãîðåëüöû are inclined to trust in overseas metamorphosises, they assert(approve), that on their houses anything fell other, as fiery spheres.
Others try to explain tragedy household incidents: the some people speak, that when the temperature of air reaches(achieves) +55°Ñ, at pets and birds the wool and feathers starts to decay. The cat who has received a burn or the rabbit starts to rush in a panic on a court yard and climbs up a roof of houses that leads to to distribution of fire.
However scientists count, that speech, most likely, goes about a meteoric rain: pieces of breed flying from space light up in an atmosphere. However, the exact reason of mass fires till now and remains a riddle.
For the information(inquiry): the Meteoric rain - the unique astronomical phenomenon. His(its) kinds which can be observed at various times year and with different periodicity are known some.
For example, " a star downpour ", "Leonid" named astronomers, it is possible to see seldom enough - each 33 years when about the Earth comet Òåìïëà-Òàòòëà flies by. "Leonids" are her(it) ÷àñòè÷êè which breaking away, generously shower our planet.
The name has received the phenomenon because there are meteorites from that part of a space where there is constellation Ëåî. Encyclopaedic editions assert(approve), that the most ancient on supervision the meteoric stream has been marked by Chinese in 1768 B.C.
Time in 130 years the Earth passes through a dust tail of a comet of Swift - Òàòòëà and then meteoric stream Ïåðñåèä reaches(achieves) the maximal activity, dumping(resetting) on us thousand "tail" meteorites.
And in general, " falling stars " can be observed every year in second half of summer(years). Always was considered, that they do not represent for people of danger - ÷àñòè÷êè reach our planet extremely seldom, and in a history yet there was no case that the meteorite has done much harm to the person. To tell the truth, more than 50 years in the Great Britain the fragment of a meteorite has killed the cow

Did Meteorite Strike Central Florida?
POSTED: 10:53 am EDT July 16, 2004

CASSELBERRY, Fla. -- Speculation about a July Fourth meteorite strike in Seminole County has many area residents searching their yards for answers.
Video
Meteor May Have Struck Casselberry Area
From Oviedo, to Maitland, to Casselberry, witnesses claim to have heard a large boom and saw bright flashes of light across the evening holiday skies, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.
It's creating a meteorite buzz on local radio stations, WESH NewsChannel 2 reported.
"I saw this crazy light, and it was really bright," said Casselberry resident Diana Felise. "The entire house was rattling. We thought the pictures were going to fall off the wall."
If a meteor did strike the area, it is believed to have hit somewhere around Red Bug Road and state Road 434, but Casselberry police officials said they're convinced it was nothing more than a big bolt of lightning since there was a severe storm in the area that night.
"Lightning, thunderstorms, welcome to Florida," said Lt. Dennis Stewart of the Casselberry Police Department.
Many residents, however, still believe it was a meteorite. Rick Wega shot video of the bright lights and remains convinced it was not a storm-induced effect.
"The way it shook the ground isn't like no other lightning," said Wega, "Ive been around a lot of lightning."
Experts, on the other hand, said that until someone finds a piece of a meteorite in the area, it will remain an unsolved mystery.
A meteorite is a small particle of matter that falls to Earth, and the last one to reportedly strike the area hit in Lake County in 1918. Because of such rarity, meteorites are very valuable, and in some cases, one gram of a meteorite can be valued at $10,000.

BRETTON WOODS, N.H. (AP) -- Sixty years after the Bretton Woods International Monetary Conference, supporters of establishing a single global currency are gathering Friday at New Hampshire's Mount Washington Hotel.
Back in 1944, delegates from 44 nations met at the hotel to establish the World Bank and International Monetary Fund.
Now, the hotel will be the host of the Single Global Currency Association's first convention. Led by Morrison Bonpasse of Newcastle, Maine, the group says switching to one currency around the world would save hundreds of billions of dollar each year.
Bonpasse says the change would eliminate currency trading and currency-related investment risks.

FIRBALL OVER PACIFIC
Timothy Snodgrass
Jul 15, 2004
Last night at approximately 3:00am I walked outside to gaze at the night sky, and no sooner than I walked out the door I witnessed a spectacular fireball, so enormous it could only be described as fearful, triggering a sonic boom so loud that it forced our family to temporarily flee from the seashore for safety about a mile inland (because we could not estimate the size of the object and were concerned about tsunami if it hit the Pacific). It was visible even through fog, zig-zagging through the night sky leaving a green trail of fire and smoke. Apparently, Asia was not the only region which witnessed the phenomenon. Police emergency lines were lit up as far as Finland from people observing the spectacular meteor shower. In the Philippines, I only witnessed the one large fragment due to the fog and light drizzle. Impact could be heard approximately 45 seconds after the sighting, and sounded like a large canon exploding over the Pacific. I am now in the Manila area, where for the first time in over a month I have been able to enjoy lightning-fast Internet connections. During the upcoming week I will be attempting to get caught up on responding to the over 300 un-opened emails I have piling up in my Inbox, so please be patient if I have not yet responded to your email ~ I promise to get back before Armageddon.

Sure seems like an increased meteor phenomena to me!
HOW ON EARTH
can people read news items like this and deny that we are in the end times?
Sigh.
PRETTY IMPRESSIVE!
I wonder if it's going to get as dramatic as some made it out to be.
Certainly a sign in the heavens, imho.
