GREETINGS,
FOLLOWING is a note re todays Alaskan quake. First a comment about this thread.
SOME FREEPERS are fascinated with fringe areas of reality. Some of us even think the fringe areas of knowledge, research, anecdotal stories and the like will have very impactful effects on the WAR ON TERROR, WWIII, Biblical end time events etc.
WE ALSO FIND FREEPERS FULL OF GREAT CREATIVITY OF THOUGHT, INSIGHT, WORK RELATED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS ETC. useful in collecting diverse puzzle pieces and in analyzing them. This diversity is priceless and virtually unavailable on any other site.
While we are seriously interested in topics which others scoff at, throw tinfoil hat assaults at and which we often even can't discuss calmly with many of our relatives and friends--we are either not all loonies or not 100% looney--though perhaps, hopefully, healthily insane in an insane society a la Eric Fromm.
Nevertheless, we do NOT enjoy nor appreciate hostile flame wars and the like just because we enjoy fringe puzzle pieces and analysis. Nor do we wish to cast the least bit of aspersions on FR.
I do not know how many of us will be willing to show up and post on this thread. Many are gunshy from all the flame attacks such topics typically trigger hereon. However, if my FREEPMAIL is any hint, there are plenty to be interested in such a thread.
HOWEVER, to whatever degree I may be graced with the ability to do so--this thread will NOT tolerate flame wars, flame posts, hostile jabs at other posters etc. I will do my utmost to get such posts pulled immediately.
The THREAT MATRIX thread has done mostly pretty well at creating and maintaining a lot of resourcefulness, creativity, camaraderie, mutual supportiveness and friendliness.
I hope and expect that this thread can even do better. Certainly I will do what I can to help make that happen.
If this thread flies and helps in any way analyze the WOT threats as well as natural disaster threats or any other plausible threats from 'reality' (whatever that is), then WONDERFUL. If it's just a good place to toss around the various puzzle pieces and their implications in a convoluted era and reality--that's worth some time, too.
If this thread dies and early death from disinterest, so be it.
If you have comments about the above, please post them! Hostile dereogatory posts will AT LEAST BE WHOLESALE IGNORED.
Below is some of the data on the recent quake and my comment on that.

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake IN SOUTHERN ALASKA has occurred at: 61.65N 151.25W Depth 81km Mon Jun 21 21:29:09 2004 UTC

I recall reading somewhere in the last month, a prediction that a very major devastating quake on the West Coast or the Pacific would occur shortly after a moderate quake in Alaska or just south of Alaska.
We shall see.
Personally, I'd vote for keeping Jihadi's out of quake shelters.

To a brother in reply to a FREEPMAIL
Of course I prefer that posts are Spirit Led and God Pleaseing as well as comforting etc.
Alas, we are only human and all see through a glass darkly.
I don't mind things atypical or even quite contrary to CONVENTIONAL constructions on things. I PREFER, MUCH PREFER, that people put things tentatively.
I really do not prefer and do not respect so often "THUS SAYS THE LORD" when it's just as or more likely that it was the spicey taco last night.
I MUCH PREFER "I HAVE AN IMPRESSION that The Lord is saying; The Lord would have us . . . "
Of course, Occasionally, THE LORD INSISTS we put things more absolutely. That really better be true, imho. And it' better not come from ego or harshness or egocentricity of soul etc.
AND, I prefer that ON THINGS WHEREIN THERE *SEEMS* TO BE--EVEN JUST *SEEMS* TO BE SOME AMBIGUITY IN SCRIPTURE--that we give each other the grace of reasonable people to arrive at different constructions or interpretations.
I actually haven't read all the priest's post. I've been immersed in a year long + weaving project just on the samples for curtains for a very elderly aunt. So, I'm here mostly on breaks from that instead of 10-12 hours a day or so. I read enough to believe it had something to at least prayerfully ponder; probably wasn't wholesale off the wall and might cause some who think denomination saves to think a bit more deeply.
And, I might be sometimes prone to post something which might be wholesale questionable if it caused people to think about a common 'error,' rut, doctrine of man etc. But I'd most likely label it as significantly less than anointed.
IN TERMS OF THIS THREAD, I MUCH PREFER--STRONGLY PREFER--THAT WE EXTEND ONE ANOTHER OCEANS OF GRACE--EVEN SOMETIMES--WHEN HARSHNESS MIGHT SEEM WARRANTED. WE ARE CLEVER ENOUGH TO USE COMPUTERS--WE CAN BE CLEVER ENOUGH TO WORD THINGS WITH GRACE AND GENTLENESS.
And, actually, I prefer that the variety of possible topics be respected and accepted.
Anyway--just my 2 cents. Let me see if I can get a sense about the Scriptures by His Spirit . . .
I tend to avoid tedious hair splitting, exhaustive throwing-verses-at-one-another; yelling epithets over root meanings etc. sorts of 'discussions.'
The Scripture, is of course the classic Rapture Scripture and I'm sorry, but I don't have any additional insight on it. Will try and be prayerful over it for a day or so and see if anything else comes but hasn't for several years.
I still don't think anyone has it all figured out.
I believe that those covered in The Blood are not "appointed unto wrath" as another Scripture says. That implies to me that we won't be around or at least won't, mostly, as a group, be vulnerable somehow to the wrath of God delivered the last 3.5 years of The Great Tribulation.
I realize that some construe The Wrath of God coming only at the end of the thousand years of Peace. I don't quite buy into that, really.
Sometimes I've wondered if there might be several 'resurrections' but don't see a lot of Scriptural support for that.
And, sometimes, I've felt that the evil ones would be taken out in some cases. But I don't really know about that.
I mostly don't think God is ready for us to have it ALL figured out, yet.
Thanks for your kind and discerning posts and msg.
Have to move along to several other priorities.
LUB,
BLESSINGS,
PERSONAL DREAM OF A TREASURED FREEPER:
What do you think of this????????????????????
Bush Seeks Church Membership Data
By David Morgan, Reuters
WASHINGTON (July 1, 2004) - President Bush, seeking to mobilize religious conservatives for his reelection campaign, has asked church-going volunteers to turn over church membership directories, campaign officials said on Thursday.
In a move sharply criticized both by religious leaders and civil libertarians, the Bush-Cheney campaign has issued a guide listing about two-dozen "duties" and a series of deadlines for organizing support among conservative church congregations.
A copy of the guide directs religious volunteers to send church directories to state campaign committees, identify new churches that can be organized by the Bush campaign and talk to clergy about holding voter registration drives.
The document, distributed to campaign coordinators across the country earlier this year, also recommends that volunteers distribute voter guides in church and use Sunday service programs for get-out-the-vote drives.
"We expect this election to be potentially as close as 2000, so every vote counts and it's important to reach out to every single supporter of President Bush," campaign spokesman Scott Stanzel said.
But the Rev. Richard Land, who deals with ethics and religious liberty issues for the Southern Baptist Convention, a key Bush constituency, said he was "appalled."
"First of all, I would not want my church directories being used that way," he said, predicting failure for the Bush plan.
The conservative Protestant denomination, whose 16 million members strongly backed Bush in 2000, held regular drives that encouraged church-goers to "vote their values," said Land.
"But it's one thing for us to do that. It's a totally different thing for a partisan campaign to come in and try to organize a church. A lot of pastors are going to say: 'Wait a minute, bub'," he added.
The guide surfaced as a spate of opinion polls showed Bush's reelection campaign facing a tough battle.
A Wall Street Journal/NBC poll showed Bush running neck-and-neck with Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry among registered voters, 47 percent of whom said they now believed the president had misled Americans about the threat posed by Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
The Bush campaign has also been spending heavily on television ads, only to see the president's approval ratings slump to new lows.
Stanzel said the campaign ended the month of June with $64 million on hand. He had no figures on how much Bush has raised in June. At the end of May, Bush had raised $213.4 million and spent all but $63 million.
The latest effort to marshal religious support also drew fire from civil liberties activists concerned about the constitutional separation of church and state.
"Any coordination between the Bush campaign and church leaders would clearly be illegal," said a statement from the activist group Americans United for Separation of Church and State.

Hey where is nothingman? I found his thought intresting and would love to hear more.
I have been kicking this around for months now. Nothing man does have a point.
When the Romans came for Jesus he went peaceably with them and said
Matt 26:52 Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place; for (1) all those who take up the sword shall perish by the sword.
I think about this all the time we are doing all the preparning and getting ready to fight off terrorist. Then I think WHHHHHHHHHHHHYYYY...I am going to heaven and the sooner the better.
Can anyone think of any other references just in the NT that talks about fighting. Cold hard scripture not an interpation or figurely speaking.
Hi Nice to meet you:)
i am beginning to enter into a greater study/understanding of the book of DANIEL because i believe it holds several answers to help understand end-time events.
Would you like to post to us what you are reading time frame and let those who care to. Following along and all offer thoughts.
We could sort of do an online line Bible study. It wouldnt matter if we were all here eveyday or at the same time.
Sometimes I've wondered if there might be several 'resurrections' but don't see a lot of Scriptural support for that.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Quix I have thought the same thing but no one agrees with me. I have also thought that GOD may be going to let us die like everyone else has before us. Best I can tell Christains are not mentioned after REV 4:4
Any thoughts?
this is good info to compare to Daniel...
1) Tensions between the United States, NATO,our allies, and Iran have drastically increased. A similar increase of tension has occurred in the wake of talks with North Korea.
2)North Korea and Iran are threatening to conduct a joint test of a nuclear weapon.
3) Iran is threatening to launch offensive operations in conjunction with Hizbullah on specific targets in the US and Europe should they be attacked.
4) AL Qaeda's moratorium/cease fire demand to Europe expires July 15, 2004.
5)Al Qaeda communications have similarly increased in volume and level of threatening communications, some containing specific references to target data.
6) Several security advisories have been issued for the 4 July weekend.
7) Several raids and detentions have occurred within the continental US.
8) Increased hostilities in Iraq have been proven to be sponsored by Iran and Syria.
If anyone can think of anything we are missing, feel free to add it.
Bibles for Iraq' Project Puts Word Into Welcoming Hands
Allie Martin and Jenni Parker, Agape Press
A recent visitor to the Middle East says there is a huge need for copies
of God's word in the war-torn nation of Iraq. Vernon Brewer, president
of World Help, recently met in Cairo, Egypt, with a ministry worker who
helps distribute Bibles in Iraq. He says the Egyptian "Bibles for Iraq"
project director had just returned from a week in Iraq, where he was
overseeing the distribution process of the New Testaments the Word Help
ministry is providing. "He told me that their convoy had been fired upon
by terrorists," the ministry spokesman says, "thankfully, they were not
hit." Brewer notes, "We're networking with 72 churches. We're building a
training center in the middle of Baghdad to train pastors and church
planters, and we're distributing hundreds of thousands of Bibles. God's
moving there, and it's incredible what He's doing." And Brewer says
Bibles are in great demand in Iraq. "I've learned that the Iraqi people
love to read," he says. "They've asked us for more and more New
Testaments, and because it's open right now and there's no oppressive
regime, many of them are open [to the gospel]." World Help's president
says although the official handover of power to Iraqi officials took
place this week, the ministry will still be able to distribute New
Testaments in the region because of its network of volunteers in the
Middle East.
COMMIE CRUDS and blacks have been getting away with worse for decades.
But let the other side put a big toe in
THEIR
pool and there's all hell to pay.
Shows where their alliances are--from hell!
I do think Bush needs to be very careful. We have to be better than the liberal idiots.
Better for grass roots, anyway.
AGREE . . . except that . . .
I do NOT believe God is going to let the bulk of us die as in generations before.
THIS IS
a unique generation in history.
One that the great saints of the past evidently begged to be born in.
Shoot, I'd give them my ticket. LOL.
We shall see. I want to fulfill the role God has for me in this era.
TONS OF stuff to contemplate. Not quite up to it tonight.
Looks pretty logical.
Thanks.
good work, imho
i am honored - truly! - to be asked. i will be happy to post thoughts, understandings, and discoveries. im beginning to think of DANIEL as a big-ol' gold mine waiting right under ....there! ready to be discovered. am looking forward to mining it together. here....hand me the shovel! :)
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who
can understand it? "I the Lord search the heart and examine
the mind, to reward a man according to his conduct, according
to what his deeds deserve."
--Jeremiah 17:9-10
QUITE SO!
THX.
AMEN!
Would be interesting to see what else besides Bible Codes might be 'hidden.'
Oh, have y'all seen the listing of the root meanings of the family names in the geneologies in Chronicles.
In order, the root meanings tell the Gospel story.
No more info Please. Never even thought about it. See how good this is going to be. I am so excited.
Good.
uhhhhh . . .
Did you intend:
No. More info, please.
or
No more. Info, please.
or
No more info, please.
???
Couldn't tell. Sorry.
