It would sure be nice if summer was not unbearably hot this year. Maybe just up to 102. I always forget how miserable it is at 106.

We usually get temp over 105 for a few days. Lots of water is a must. It was 107 for our FReeper picnic a couple of years ago; too hot to be outside. That's the year we played with water pistols. :)

I should compile a ping list for Our Daily Bread posts.
Please let me know if you want on or off
Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:16
Without a heart aflame for God, we cannot shine for Jesus.

"Apatheists"
Read: Revelation 3:14-19
Because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:16
Bible In One Year: Esther 3-5; Acts 5:22-42
Most people profess belief in God, meaning they are theists. True atheism is a rarity.
Recently, however, it has been suggested that we need a new term for the multitude who are theists but are indifferent to God in daily living. They ought to be called apatheists. That word is built on the noun apathy, which means "indifference," a sort of sluggish unconcern. And sadly, whatever belief an individual professes, he may be living as an apatheist. His faith may make only a minimal difference in his behavior.
The apostle John recorded that Jesus described the church at Laodicea as neither hot nor cold (Revelation 3:16). They were lukewarm or, as we might say, they were apatheists.
What about those of us who profess faith in Jesus? Are we lukewarm? We pray, but is our praying a mere obligation? We attend church and may even engage in some form of Christian service. Yet is all of that a matter of routine, like brushing our teeth or cleaning our house? Have we lost our first love, the zeal we had early in our spiritual journey?
Today, let's make the psalmist's prayer our own: "Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?" (Psalm 85:6). Vernon Grounds
Revive us again,
Fill each heart with Thy love,
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above. Mackay
Without a heart aflame for God, we cannot shine for Jesus.

Got the following in an e-mail, thought this would be a good place to pass it along... (Personally, I will
pray for the peace of Jerusalem, as commanded in the Bible)...
What a powerful way to obey God's command to pray for those in authority. God bless America as we celebrate those who have sacrificed for us that we may be FREE.
Thought you might like to share in this -
In W.W.II there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every day at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace.
There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. If you would like to participate, every evening at 9:00pm Eastern Time (6:pm Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States, our troops, our citizens, and for peace in the world, and God's wisdom for our leaders.
If you know anyone else who would like to participate, please pass this along. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.
Together, we "CAN" make a difference! Thank You, and God Bless America!

Please keep a coworker of mine in prayer.
His wife, who is expecting a baby any day now was admitted to the hospital and they say the doctors may have to induce labor.
my coworker is Craig. so keep Craig and his wife and thier baby (first child) in your prayers.

Inside the Raincloud
Up inside the raincloud, the droplets do confer.
And though they seem quite uniform, they rarely do concur.
Droplet One says Whats the use? No one will even look.
And Droplet Two says Im not ready! I didnt read the book!
The bigger Droplet Ten responds, Now, steady on!
Dont fall down on us now.
Just get into position, were about to make a bow.
Dont you mean a rainbow? No, I said lets take a bow!
Your little bending motion, will change the lights return,
And give a little color for the fame that you will earn.
Now, some of you will get a chance to use your other hand,
And bounce another color if it comes perchance to land.
Well do a double duty, and make a pretty show,
And the people will exclaim at all the colors that we show!!
He lined up all the boys with quite a sparkle in his eye,
And he didnt give the little ones a chance to even cry.
The curtain raised about them and the light was shining clear,
And everyone that he could see was grinning ear to ear.
Their bright smiles shone back out to where the sun had shone before,
And the rainbow that they formed would now become the stuff of lore.
They held the pose until they splashed down on the ground,
And made a lot of merriment as they were dancing round.
They formed into their rivulets to start the trip back up,
And all exclaimed their luck to be a droplet in Gods cup.
