He lived a life that made a difference for millions of people. Indeed. Btw, that reminds me one of Reagan's quotes:
" Some people live their entire life wondering if they made a difference in the world. The Marines don't have that problem."
I tried to use it as a tagline, but it was too long. :-(

I had company, so I didn't have the computer or TV on tonight... I just found out.
I was eight years old when he became my President. There was a lot going on at my home, and I was a very scared, very lonely little boy. I remember watching President Reagan on TV and thinking, even at that young age, that somehow this smiling man with the kindly voice was going to make everything okay.
Later, in my teen years, I saw President Reagan demand that Gorbachev "tear down this wall." I decided then and there that I would join the military when I was old enough. President Reagan taught me that this country was worth every sacrifice to defend. I answered his call. Service cost me my marriage and the chance to watch my daughter grow up, but I would do it all again.
I flew into my basecamp in Bosnia late one night on a Blackhawk. The camp was lit up by the spotlights on the white concrete walls. One light was directed upwards at the American flag that flew 'round the clock. As we came in on short final, I saw that flag, and the thought occurred to me that my tiny outpost, our bastion of democracy in the midst of the heart of darkness, was, literally, the shining city on a hill that President Reagan spoke of. In that moment, I realized that the easiest way to spell America was H-O-P-E.
Mr. President, thank you for giving me a country worth passing down to my daughter.

Here is a link to my favorite Poet. You probably have heard of him: T.S. Elliott. My favorite poem is the Hollow Men. There is some issue with reprinting the poem, although I did find the entire poem on - line, I thought better of posting it here.
The famous line is about the world ending, "not with a bang , but a whimper"
TS Elliott
Do any of you remember the movie the Big chill? Well, there are some who believe this movie is actually based upon the poem, The Hallow Men.
Have any of you heard this story before? IF you have the poem in front of you while you watch the movie you can make some really interesting analysis of the comparisons between movie and poem.
PS- I found this thread while I was lurking on Sam Wolf...
That is how I keep track of the foxhole thread.... Hope you don't mind Sam!
Have a great day everyone.. I will be unpacking boxes!! UGH!!

Trust Him
Mankind was given many gifts,
Free will, I think is best.
The choice to live a higher life,
Or wallow with the rest.
Ive chosen roads that went nowhere,
Because, I knew the way.
The warnings, they were everywhere,
But I did not obey.
The Lord wont make us do whats right,
But hints to us, Hell give.
If we just listen, watch, and learn,
He shows us how to live.
So read His Word, His Truth is there,
And praise His Holy name.
Then once you let Him guide your way,
Your life wont be the same.
Life will not always go your way,
But with Him, peace youll find.
Remember that come Judgment Day,
He wont leave you, behind.

Thank you, Leadpenny! It is good to be home.
This is a day of sadness but also a day for rejoicing. Our beloved President Reagan is in a better place and his mind is at peace.
May God be with his family at this difficult time.
