A White Rose
The red rose whispers of passion,
And the white rose breathes of love;
O, the red rose is a falcon,
And the white rose is a dove.
But I send you a cream-white rosebud
With a flush on its petal tips;
For the love that is purest and sweetest
Has a kiss of desire on the lips.

A Practice So Confusing
Crammed into a woman's purse
Are objects strange and varied
All the things she claims to need
That with her must be carried
Styled like a small suitcase
She handles it with pride
But every item placed therein
When needed seems to hide
Peek inside and you will find
Among the clutter there
A myriad of beauty aids
And things to fix her hair
Medications, some loose change
And credit cards galore
An army knife, two rings of keys
And a hundred items more
So why do women have the need
To carry all this stuff
Surely there is such a time
When enough becomes enough
This mystery bag of awkward size
We men do find amusing
But we will never understand
This practice so confusing

A busload of politicians were driving down a country road, when suddenly the bus ran off the road and crashed into an old farmer's barn.
The old farmer got off his tractor and went to investigate. Soon he dug a hole and buried the politicians. A few days later, the local sheriff came out, saw the crashed bus and asked the old farmer where all the politicians had gone.
The old farmer told him he had buried them.
The sheriff asked the old farmer, "Lordy, were they ALL dead?"
The old farmer said, "Well, some of them said they weren't, but you know how them crooked politicians lie."

Hey, thanks. I know the feeling. We get so attached to our pets, don't we? Your note about the Cockatiel 'Mo' reminds me of fond memories of our long-time pet, Josie (1968-1984).
Josie was a Cockapoo (Cocker-Spaniel/Poodle) we got at a square dance in Seattle in 1968 (we lived in Spokane, Wash., and often visited Mom's sister and family across the Cascades in Seattle). Josie was the smartest and most lovable thang.
I still remember her first (and only) winter in Spokane, too. Spokane had a record season for snowfall that winter of 1968-69. After one of the first snowfalls, a pretty heavy one with big snowdrifts, etc., I took Josie out in an open field not far from our house. She was still so small at the time, too. I remember seeing some quail on the snow in the distance and pointing them out to Josie and she ran toward them and of course they flew away. And then I got into a snowdrift up to about my waist and got stuck ! haha ! I had a bit of trouble getting unstuck too. Seems like it took me about 10 minutes to wiggle my way out of it. Anyway, I recall that little adventure that day in my mind just like it was yesterday.
Anyway, Josie lived a long and happy life as part of our Air Force family. We brought her back to Texas in 1969 and she went with us to The Azores, Portugal and lived there with us 1971-74. Dad was transferred back to Texas and retired here and they eventually (1978-79-ish) moved back to Dad's East Texas birthplace and stomping grounds, Josie in tow.
Anyway, sorry 'bout the long-winded post here about this. I didn't mean to go on like this, lol ! ;^)

Had an early date with a good book.
Dang-grrrr-us? I hardly think you're that. I'm *usually* a good judge of character - Just ask Louie.
:-)
Hope you both have a wonderful day!

Listen To The Children
Read: Matthew 21:1-17
Have you never read, "Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants You have perfected praise"? Matthew 21:16
Bible In One Year: Joshua 4-6; Luke 1:1-20
The religious leaders were wrong about Jesus as He rode into Jerusalem (Matthew 21:15-16). They couldn't have been more off-base if they had tried. True, they knew a lot of theology, but they were dead wrong about who Jesus was.
The children, however, were right. They were the ones in the temple who shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David!" (v.15). They believed that the Person riding that unbroken colt was the promised Son of David. They fulfilled the prophecy of Psalm 8:2 by giving praise to the Lamb who was about to die for the sins of the world. It was the children who responded with wholehearted joy, even though they may not have fully understood Jesus' mission to redeem mankind.
Yes, children can teach us a vital lesson about faith. In their openness and innocence, it's easy for them to trust the One whose pure character touches a responsive chord in their tender hearts.
As adults, we think we know so much. We try to be so mature, so correct, so religious. I wonder if we would even recognize the Savior if He walked among us, working the kind of miracles He performed long ago.
Lord, give us the faith of little children. Dave Egner
A child is blind to prejudice
But quick to see what's good and true;
Oh, how we need that childlike faith
In all we say and all we do! D. De Haan
Big lessons can be learned from little children.

LOL!
'Usually'?
Sounds like me at times.
I usually decide whether or not to trust someone based off the 'feel' I get from them.
For example, a certain acquaintence of someone dear to me gave me a 'wrong' feeling about them and I couldn't put my finger on it.
Turns out I was right.

Politicians have people vote when they're dead.. so politicians therefore must also be able to act like they are alive when they aren't.

I'm working on taxes today.
I'll be checking in and out to answer my pings.
I checked the map and a listing of ghost towns in Nevada. Tenabo is a little southeast of Reno. It is in the middle of nowhere. Must have been settled for the mining. It is off the beaten path. I doubt that anyone just passes thru there.
Anyplace in Arizona that you would like to see picture of? I will get pictures of the Colorado River thru Laughlin. We hope to see some of those Saugaro (sp) cactus and a museum of desert wildlife.
Anyway, have a great day and a wonderful week. I'm going to miss everyone.
