A “good” drone for infrastructure inspection purposes is the SKYDIO x10, which runs about $25,000. (No Chinese chips.)

Which is why it is not a group of nerds flying these things as some seem to think. I have a very small DJI drone and it cost $500, the ones being spoted in NJ are the size of an automobile.

Signs and wonders in the heavens.

Demons.
Fallen angels.

At this point nothing would surprise me.

Second biggest cargo port in the US, three major international airports, corporate headquarters for hundreds of US companies, 20 million US citizens,, worlds financial center, etc., there is no limit to what China would like to know about New York New Jersey.

"Commercial drone show company"

Commercial drone shows are held at the NJ shore, but those shows use small drones.

(What in the hell could anyone conceivably want with New Jersey)

Trump’s International Golf Club and try to assassinate him or a family member there. Think!

Do you really know how ‘low tech’ it is?

People on the news today have been saying that we’re ‘behind’ in drone technology; but maybe we’re not so behind...

but maybe we’re not so behind...

Our Secret Service agents had to call an 800 number just to get their ONE drone in the sky in Butler to protect President Trump.

I take the chance and use the long rifle to attempt a take down. Enough is enough.

It’s either DOD or DHS. Nothing else is reasonable.

I don’t think ‘Secret Service’ are behind this, or that they necessarily possess the best tech we have under research...

I agree. But what is the purpose of them doing what they’re doing?

I’d go for that if it was in an area where it wouldn’t fall on people or houses.

Me neither, but they're a symbol of how far we've let our government institutions decay. Who's to say that other agencies haven't done the same?

Boeing can't put a plane together anymore, let alone a spacecraft. Are they advancing drone technology on our behalf?

The university leadership can't put a paper together without plagiarizing it. Are they graduating the technical leaders that we need to advance drone technology?

The military can't recruit soldiers anymore. Are they promoting the commanders that we need to advance drone technology?

Our government is cutting off oil, gas, coal, and steel production. Are they building the manufacturing infrastructure that we need to advance drone technology?

Our government is changing in a little over a month.

(And I think there are still a lot of good people in it, in our military, and in our defense industry. Give things some time and a chance.)

My money is on a drone club of a bunch of nerds getting together and flying their individual drones on the same “mission” trip.

Well, you'd lose your money. These are not commercial off the shelf drones.

I don't know if you saw the video with all the chatter between commercial airline pilots and air traffic control in Oregon (yes, Oregon...this isn't just happening in New Jersey). The pilots talking to air traffic control said that they're seeing these things at 30,000 and even 50,000 feet, and that they move incredibly fast.

At this point, we'd better pray that they're aliens, because if some other nation has this level of tech, we're screwed.

Likely, they’re testing something.

This seems like more of the Groom Lake stuff that was attributed to UFOs and ‘aliens’ in the past; but this time we’re attributing it to foreign adversaries, the ‘Deep State’ spying on us, etc....

Great, but the drones are here now.

If your first point was that "maybe we’re not so behind," I'd say that we're perhaps four years behind if you're banking on the incoming administration to fix things.

Remember, Biden was funding China and funding Iran. That money wasn't going into American R&D.

They’re playing with fire if that’s the reason. This incident is bound to trigger some changes in the law. A lot of people are angry.
