I've been to Tucson. And Yuma. And Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. That was all in the early 70's.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that Tucson has to MOST lightning strikes than any other city/county in the entire country.

I know there have been some pretty spectacular ones. I'm just glad they don't last long. I HATE thunderstorms!

Northern AZ is incredible, especially the White Mountains and the Mogollon Rim. If you ever get a chance to take one of your Homeric car trips there, you might consider it T-c.

It's the comfort of the paper (warmth) and the sound (fibers) they hear when when they move against it. Paper bags have the same effect. Hobbes is not a "paper" cat. She's the first one I have ever seen that isn't. But then, I don't think she really knows she's a cat.

I love all of Arizona. I haven't "explored" a small area between the Snowy Mountains and the Mogollon Rim, but the rest of the state is pretty familiar, and I have family of some kind all over the state.

I'm moving there because of the climate. Las Vegas is too big, and where I am (in Tek-sus) is too humid, so I am going back to the desert where I will be like a lizard on a rock...basking in the heat to warm my blood...

Women drivers

(A hazard to traffic!)

Driving into the city this morning on the Interstate, I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new red Mustang doing 75 miles per hour with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on eyeliner!

I looked away for a couple seconds shaking my head in disbelief and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane, still working on her darn makeup!

Well, it scared me so bad that I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the doughnut right out of my other hand.

In all the confusion of trying to straighten the car out using my knees against the steering wheel,

I knocked my cell phone away from my other ear, which fell into the coffee mug between my legs and making me scream in pain and DISCONNECTING A VERY IMPORTANT CALL!

DAMN CRAZY WOMEN DRIVERS!

There oughta be a law . . .

I had a cat that investigated a plastic bag, and got attacked by it!

It had her by the back leg, and it wouldn't let go! She ran through the house, even trying a diversionary chemical attack, but it persisted in following her...

When I finally stopped laughing, and rescued her, she had lost all interest in plastic bags, permanently.

I have been through Flagstaff a number of times, as well as the Four Corners area. (Reminds me a lot of my home area in central Utah). I love mountains, but I only like to SEE the snow, not walk or drive in it.

Of course, the area between LV and Tucson is very familiar...I like the area around Parker, as it is not so "touristy" as Lake Havasu City.

I fled the Great Californian Exodus, didn't much like the flavor some of our Leftist imports were bringing. Napolitano and Goddard ain't my cup o' tea.

That, and a new gig in Tejas made the decision pretty easy...
