However, Governor John Bel Edwards (Democrat) and Attorney General of Louisiana Jeff Landry (Republican) announced through a breaking news conference that Louisiana is making the anti-malarial drug 'hydrocholoroquine' and the anti-biotic available to doctors to prescribe in Louisiana for people with COVID-19 Justification: Gov. Edwards stated that such action would free up HOSPITAL BEDS and VENTILATORS in Louisiana. Pharmacies in Louisiana will have these drugs available through the Government of Louisiana distributing them.
